Description The song explains itself. Just another in the long love/hate relationship I have with my home state.
Lyrics If you're going to New Orleans
Can I come with you
It's the city of Creole Dreams
And I'm dreaming too
The smell of the white Magnolia
Permeates the air
Streetcars and funky bars
Are in my memeory of you

I want to go down to the French Quarter
And take a carriage ride with you
Stop off at Pirates Ally
To hear some folk, jazz and blues
The smell of food wafting in the air
Drives you crazy
Jambalaya and good Gumbo
And seafood fresh from the ocean
Hardware Shure SM-58, M-Audio USB interface, Ginseng tea, Alvarez-Yari acoustic guitar, Dean Acoustic/electric
Software: Garageband

Delightful tune
I love the way this piece shuffles along. Feels like a brass
band should be tooting along with it. I used to play in a
dixieland band called Southern Peaches, and this reminds
me of an old tune we played, "Do You Know What It
Means (to Miss New Orleans?") Thanks for posting this,
Tom.

Delightful tune
Sure, I know Do You Miss New Orleans. That's an old Louie Armstrong tune.
I'm sure I was influenced by his whole catalog when I wrote this. It's very
strange but one day my 23 yr old hip hop, rap son asked me if I had any
Louie on my computer as he and his friends were big Louie fans. Could have
knocked me over with a feather!

Never been to New Orleans
If this is what I'm missing then I perhaps I should make
getting there a goal.

Nice song...again! Love the warmth of your sound.

Thanks Mr. Clarke. Yeah, if you like music and food (and who doesn't?) then
you should try to make it at least once. But don't go during Mardi Gras or the
Jazz Fest. Go when there are no huge crowds and you can wander around at
your leisure.

Never been to New Orleans
I hear that. Spent enough time working at resorts in the Northeast to know
the best time to visit a place is out of tourist season. A lot easier to
experience the local culture and history.

Sweet...
as usual. Missed this on vacation. A song that makes me
hungry? I'm not sure that's good for me. Beautiful playing
on the break.
