Exhilerating What a great morph from 78 record to crystal clear sound. makes for a thrilling beginning. This is really solid, well done. Love the mandolin, the chorus, the chimes, the overall passion you put into this. Maybe more organ, and more organ sounds (for alternative organ stops and textures) to add to the live gospel feel. But an exhilarating track. |

Oh yea, give me that Gospel sound Groovin! This is great. Ha!..on my IPod. This mix is very balanced, the vocals reside at the perfect level. Love that organ...great vocal command BTW. Simply an excellent song. |

great combination... ...of live and looped sounds! Really well-combined. Your vocals are excellent, and the background vocal stuff is REALLY great. Very nice overall mix. This song is well-crafted and performed. I would have liked to hear you pull out more of the stops, let loose a bit sooner in the song. But you rose to the occasion very well in the latter part, starting with the words, "I was down on my knees, begging someone please....". The intensity built up well from then on. The violin (trumpet?) lick at the very end seemed a little out-of-place, coming out of nowhere. That might have been more effective placed earlier in the song. Overall, this song is well done. |

This is sweet, Cantor! BTW, this is Dan if you weren't sure...but when I listened to the first version, I thought "yeah thats kind of cool, but maybe it was missing a little touch. And with the remix, you really blew me away with the vocal harmonies and the cool loops. Like most ppl have said, you do have a very good vocal range, thats probobly why you have the occupation that you do...Great job! and keep coming out with new stuff! |

I have some thoughts about this excellent song, but I think I need to listen to it a few more times. Some thoughts about rhythm and tempo, double time, maybe more presence in the lead vocal. Something that might really add variance and suprise would be to suddenly drop all instruments at some point and create a true a capella section, where your outstanding vocal work could really shine. I would love to hear you sing the parts on some of my acapella pieces (Holy Temple and Take My Hand.) You really have a great range. This song is so much fun. I'll return to it when I have more time. Great job. |

I thought I already commented.... ...but I guess I didn't. So here I go. This sounds absolutely great! My favorite part is that intensely, inspiringly, soul-shaking chorus. Wonderful arangement and rich mix. The only thing that sounded off was the organ lick at the end just as the song was about to fade out; too loud and perhaps not quite the right variation of that chord to go with that part of the song. Other than that one minor thing, WOW all around. |

Take me to the river! This is a fantastic song for so many reasons. I love the gospel revival theme, choice of instruments, and very intentional character of the piece. The vocals are a standout and the choir sounds large and authentic. Great production. I think atwood is on to something with idea of an a capella break. Something about this piece makes me think it deserves a big ending. Maybe using that a capella section just before the final section would add an exclamation mark? |

Wonderful That's a really strong remix of the original track. The transition from an old victrola to full blown sound was a great idea! Not sure I'm a fan of the echo on the verse, but the background "oooos" are balanced perfectly under. I still love that chorus, too. |

Hmm I agree w/ Israe that while the '78 effect is very cool it might do w/ a bit of trimming. I think I would have cut over after the first phrase. I also love the mandolin in there - I'm a sucker for them. In fact the arrangement overall is top notch. There is a veiled quality to some of the male solo voices hat doesn't quite work for me, though it's great when they aren't doing that. The violin at the end w/ the counter melody is wonderful. really nice arrangement. |

Excellent This is really a fantastic song... I'm sorry I missed it the first time (spending too much time listening to "Pumps Your Blood" I guess). As noted by others very neat transition from vinyl to digital... best use of that effect I've seen here. |

thoughts from the bull... love the intro. whenever i hear a scratchy intro, i sit on edge waiting... waiting to hear what's coming. in this case, this was a terrific lead into something wonderful. love the choir-esque voices! production is really well done. hard to believe there's "loops, loops, and loops..." i can see a family or a congregation performing this at night in a small hall or something. great message in this, as well. excellent job and thanks for sharing this! |

delightful The intro was great, and just when I thought "Okay, that's enough, hope it doesn't repeat.." it didn't and kicked in. Incredible voice & range (repeating others). Very beautiful gospel-like tune, sounds like something stolen right off a Broadway show. Agree with Tom that if you dropped everything out in the middle for a bit as a mostly a- capella span, it would add variety, and more punch when you brought things back in. Argh, the violin was only at the very end? Would like a little more of that for the ending. Would like a little more bass-boost on the bass loop. Great stuff! ttfn, Drakonis |

Alleluia This is very well done. Vibrant. Celebratory. Melodious. Memorable. Swell collection of voices. Love it, Cantor. |
