Description This is a re-do of my original "Average Joe" tune which you can find on this site under the "Pop" category. I think this one is MUCH better. That being said, some male vocals are badly needed!!! (hint hint) A BIG THANK YOU to nspeers for his rockin' guitar playing on this tune. Sound miles better : )
Lyrics please, please, please pick me now
you, you, have no idea how
wonderful I really am
all that you see is

I’m not a hunk, I don’t have a tan
I’m not so good-looking but that’s not who I am

the average joe, he wants to be
loved for his personality
to hell with good looks, they never last
what do you have left when they’re a thing of the past

he is the one you should love
the average joe, the average joe
the average joe joe joe joe the average joe

here come the gorgeous guys
it’s just a fancy disguise
for all the faults underneath
it can’t make up for

the fact that they’ve never had to believe
there’s more to a man than you can readily see

the average joe, he wants to be
loved for his personality
to hell with good looks, they never last
what do you have left when they’re a thing of the past

you’ve got to have a man in your life
who’s happy to live as husband and wife
he’s so committed and ready to give
all that he has for you to happily live

he is the one you should love
the average joe, the average joe
the average joe joe joe joe the average joe

the average joe, he wants to be
loved for his personality
to hell with good looks, they never last
what do you have left when they’re a thing of the past
repeat chorus

he is the one you should love
the average joe, the average joe
the average joe joe joe joe the average joe
joe, the average joe
the average joe joe joe joe
the average joe

joe, the average joe
the average joe joe joe joe
the average joe

This song screams....
BONKA!

That said I like the way you sing, you have very unique
and quirky (in a good way) voice.

Dat was fun
Glad to see it up. After we went back and forth a few times on it got a working version. Still enjoy the vocal treatment and harmonies you did. Enjoyed workin' with ya daphna.

nice tune
This is quite a good pop tune. Great writing. Your singing reminds me a little of Missing Persons at times, but with a little less punch. It sounds quite well arranged but the vocals sound like they need to come up in places and need some other element, maybe a backup part, not harmony, but singing other lines underneath the lead. The tone on the whole thing sounds a little muddy. Needs (worthy of) some more work, but sounds like a great start.

nice tune
thank you for your feedback pgreenstone. Yes! I need help on the vocals. It's
a long story. I transposed it down from the original pop version, because I
really wanted a guy to sing it. Since I didn't find anyone, I sang it, but it is not
in a suitable key for me at all. I agree during the chorus, there could definitely
be more going on vocally - like some interjections or something. I was also
thinking that it could be a duet - some parts I would leave my voice in, but
other parts, like the lower parts, really need male vocals only. Thanks again.

Finally, a song about me!
I actually think the vocals are great. You're in key the
whole time. The high parts (chorus) scream for some
harmonies - I can hear them clearly in my head! Also, I
don't get a lot of low end - what are you using for bass
(but I'm listening at work through cheap headphones so
it's probably my set-up here)? All-in-all, I really like this
song. Keep moving with it.

BTW - I ran across your husband (meaning I read a post of
his) on the apple knowledge site. I'm following this thread
on issues with GB2, and one of guys says "you should hear
the song my wife did" and there was a link to I love my
mac!

Finally, a song about me!
thanks JimmyMac! Yeah I know, I need good harmonies. Please let me know
what you are hearing in your head. For bass, it's just a GB bass sound that I
liked. May be your headphones. That's funny about my hubby, that you're
reading his thread on that Apple site. How can you tell he's a big fan??
cheers,
D.

Such fun lyrics
I liked the first version better. Sounded like a person recording it in the living room, and I liked that. Too many effects into this one. Your voice is so distinct and girl next door, it may work better without being surrounded by clutter?

Such fun lyrics
thanks for your comments mulletsrock. I really do prefer this rock style
version however. Sorry! As for vocals, I guess I will just post in the forums
that I need male vocals! I never intended to sing this one as it is not in a
suitable key for me, but didn't have anyone else to sing it. I think that having
proper vocals will go a long way in making the song better all-around.
