Description Halloween song. A bit late. :-)
Lyrics

(Who? He.)

The Haunted House of Barron Who (Who?)

They see me (He.)

They fear me (He.)

Perched upon the Mountain Blue (Who?)

The Green Sea (He.)

Below me. (He.)

The nightmare that is ever new (Who?)

The foul wind (Me.)

Of Hell stench (Me.)

Dark Angels come from the ground

They eat at your flesh and pull you down.

These beings of night are worms in the mouth.

Crawly creatures come in and come out.

Mwuu-ha-ha-ha.

The wolves are howling at the moon (Who?)

They smell death (He.)

I am death (He.)

Yes (Who?)

(He.)

(He.)

This night, I ride for malice and hate

I thirst for blood and cannot wait

I feast upon the rotten hearts

of men whose souls are torn apart

Pray for the morning glory

Break free, the stars are laughing

Awake and nothing can hurt you

The Haunted House of Barron Who (Who?)

They see me (He.)

They fear me (He.)

Gah! I'm so scared!
Love the creepy harmonies, don't lock yourself into
Halloween, this is all year round spooky!

for some reason, I thought this could use some strange
power chords, but I think it's just the mood I'm currently
in. :P

This is really good. I don't think I've ever heard a song
quite like this before... cool lyrics.

only thing that I would change is, letting the cathedral
organ in the beginning continue to fade out, rather than
just cut it off so quickly....

nice job singing it, it's very catchy!

What the Samhain is goin on?
Very nicely done! I enjoyed the distorted overly-quavered
singing, the dark melody, and the words. Very
professional-sounding... almost like something I'd expect
to hear being piped out of one of the cold-air vents in
Disneyland's Haunted Mansion.

So did you actually sing the warbly vibrato, or was that
post-processing, or just channeling? :-)

Vocal effects only include: Overdrive (for amping) + medium chorus. It's
amazing what some three-layer harmonies can do. I aim for 3-part harms in
all my songs. Addicted, I suppose. I found that a slow vibrato (self-made ;-)
really exaggerated the 'darkness' of the song. I wanted it to teeter on the
balance between EVIL and silly.

This is a great song! Funny and spooky like the funhouse at a carnival. Cool vocal effects. Great song art and lyrics. Excellent presentation of a very unique track. Thanks.

Some very cool, innovative stuff here.

The introduction with church bells and cathedral organ
was a bit long and lacked some direction, although it did
set the spooky atmosphere. Also, the volume levels
seemed low in that section. I had to turn down the volume
when the "fun" began later.

Excellent vocals -- I really liked your performance and
effects. The 3-part harmonies were great.

The drum accompaniment was cool at first, then might
have benefited from more variety. Or....maybe have a
constrasting section with a different tempo.

I didn't get the computerized stuff at the very end, which
didn't seem to fit the rest of the song.

Hats off to you for "pushing the envelope", though --
you've come up with some very imaginative sounds in
innovative combinations in this piece. Very creative!

Oh....I forgot to mention why I titled my comment "thriller"! This track does
remind me a bit of Michael Jackson's 1984 song by that name (twenty years
ago, now! wow) -- especially your Vincent Price-like vocal delivery.

Also, I wanted to mention how spooky your lyrics were. Poetic in a macabre
sorta way.

Just about blew a gasket
This one snuck up on me like a very sneaky ghoul. I
underestimated your sneakiness. Great effects,
vocals, stereoscopy, everything. I'd like to use this
for my front yard cemetery next Halloween.

This is much better than the old Monster Mash song.
It's a mix of the Beatles, the Crypt Kicker Five, The
Who, Michael Jackson and Black Sabbath.

Very interesting comments, thank you all. If you feeling
like wasting the time, the original 4-track version of this
song is now available at:

www.fosod.com/music/barron.mp3

Funny how the original addresses some of your
suggestions (particularly electric power-chordy guitar!!!)!

Oh Yeah... RE: Thriller
Yeah, I thought that too (about the thriller comment). In
fact, after I finished
this song, I began
working on a cover of Thriller but at the last minute, I
bailded out.

The Late fosod
better late than never, eh. Love it. Nice and atmospheric,
though, for my money the only song that's literally made
my flesh crawl (with actual fear) was DOA by Bloodrock.
Back in the late 60's or early 70's - this one shared some
space with it, but maybe my system is just too addled w/
tryptophan to get unnerved by anything. I'll need to add
this to my halloween mix though.

How did you get the vocal effect, so cool! Loved the
dissonance of the organ! Great song!

7th Guest
Your music reminds me of some of the music for the
game "7th Guest" by The Fat Man. You should check it
out if you're not familiar with it.

You can hear the tracks from that and other projects of
theirs here:

Spooked
I like this - very different, but with too much substance to
just be a novelty song. You definitely capture the
mood. It sounds a little like an extended Children`s
TV theme tune (that`s supposed to be a compliment by
the way) Someone ought write a cartoon called `The
Haunted House of Barron Who` to accompany it!

I like the `Pray for the Morning glory` section towards
the end - that was a nice surprise.
Thanks for putting this one up.

great halloween song
Those ghostly background vocals send shivers when they jump a 5th up.

Great use of the organ. Nice slow pace...a zombie could catch you.

The "pray for the morning glory..." voice adds a nice contrast. He
didn't seem to be part of the nightmare at first, but by the end of
his singing he was.
