Description Giggle Snot Symphony
In seven movements
By Bjorkforker

I Waiting for the Bus
II Mr. Cool
III The Battle of Mind and Mucus
IV Laughing it off
V Reminiscing
VI Swapping Spit
VII History

This mini epic is about:
I = a little boy waiting for the bus on a cold winter morning. He’s freezing and shivering and the bus is late.

II = Once on the bus he spots her, the object of his desire. He has to be cool. He goes and sits next to her and tries to get his mojo workin’. But because he was standing in the cold so long his nose starts to drip, which definitely works against his mojo.

III = So in his mind the battle of mind and mucus takes place. What on earth should he do?

IV = He decides to just wipe his nose on his scarf and laugh it off.

V = Then they reminisce about snot stories from the past.

VI = Then they frantically make out and do a little light petting in the back of the bus.

VII = Later he daydreams about her during history and thinks to himself that life snot so bad.
Lyrics the lyrics are in your mind......

total cool
the story of my life. love it. mothers of invention. my prom date. great playing. everything rolled into one. are those drum loops? man, sounds like everything is in the studio, the complete band. really good splicing rogtehr of teh movements. you should meet Mcboy. what a great track. this is why i take the bus to macjams!

total cool
Suzanne, the reigning queen of modern electric guitar, thanks for your
comments. Drums were real at one time, now they're stuffed and
mounted....on my hard drive! Most are JP3 loops, some were midi.

Suzanne said 1486 days ago
total cool
if loops, you have disguised them well. such vitality, connection to the changing rhythms of the piece, and vibrancy in the drumming, never once made me feel i was listening to anything other nthan a real band recorded expertly in a studio setting. (that, when i wasn't just grooving to the inventiveness.)

Intense
High-energy, smash-bang fun. This is amazing.

Cooool 1st one to vote!!
.... i love the obscure (anti) harmony!

Very reminiscent of early Steve Vai in his zappa days.
Great chops, great imagination. 8's across the board.

Cooool 1st one to vote!!
Thanks for breaking the voting cherry on this song and for doing it with such
a big rating. I'll never forget you.

Great presentation!
Awesome song art and description. Thanks for taking the time to include everything. The song rocks. Drums are especially awesome. Are they real?

Great presentation!
If the Skipper is happy this boat stays afloat! Adhearing to simple
requests of the providers of this site is the least i can do in return for this
FREE service. After all, we are providing content for this site and I likey to see
pics and info and stuff, makes site more pretty. So it's my pleasure Skipper!
It's kinda funny that U thank me for posting such snotty picture of dirty 8th
grade boy with beard...he he.

wow
seriously. wow. Thanks for the program notes. Following
along, all the sections made sense. I particularly like part
V, with it's little quotes from other tunes. Very clever, very
original, very well done.

bjorkforker said 1486 days ago
wow
Takk. You likey V? Me too! and VI is my other favorite section. Program notes
help much. especially this song. Takk again!

you're making me sneeze!
Love the out sections and how they make inventive
transitions into the next, sometimes getting sucked
forward, or just tripping on, with just the right amount of
repetition. I have a rare cold right now and can't look
at the photo without empathetic nose running, however.
Love the Zappa jazz, the third wave sense always leading
somewhere and keeping a sense of prog rock ensemble.
(You sound like a real rock group.) Entertaining and
surprising, smiling wryly all the way.

Gesundheit!
I am so sorry to hear about your cold. I don't think that picture is much to
look at sick or healthy, but i just could resist posting it. Hope you get well
soon and thanks for your thoughts and energy.

...great name! Also, great tune...very energetic...very
well put together. It does sound like a "live" band.

Natural
Been hearing about how GB stuff all tends to sound too
"pre-fab" and sterile. That sort of "Untouched by human
hands" thing.

Well, jeez, this track throws that out the window. This has
that sloppy kinda jamming in the studio vibe that is so
hard to get in GB.

My only gripe is the off time drums in the "Mr. Cool"
section make me nuts (in a bad way). It's so far behind
the beat that it may be in front of it! Lots of this is WAY
off the deep end (in a good way), so that makes it the
best, most original piece I've heard on here in weeks.

Make it happen again.

inventive and descriptive
Very high production values on this tune, it really does
sound like a spontaneous, live performance. Nothing
short of AMAZING!

I like the different sections but had a "challenge" trying to
identify some of them; several of the later transitions were
(tastefully) subtle.

The "story" concept of this was VERY cool. Have you done
any film scoring? If not, you should.

Excellent!

Snot rocks!
thank you for this fun, engaging listening experience
bjorkforker. More please!

darryllicht said 1485 days ago
don't wipe up that snot!
love everything about it--drums, subliminal synth,
M.I.R.V./Bucketesque guitarnoodleisms. you win my vote
for obtuse composition of the year!

ka-klick said 1485 days ago
As others have said
this is very Zappa-esque and I LOVE Zappa. Nice little
"quotes" in those guitar licks - made me smile.

A nurse once told me that the only bodily
fluid that she couldn't stand was saliva. After looking at
your pic I'm not sure if it qualifies or not. Have to say it
makes me feel ill. Which is a shame because the music is
like Yes meet the soundtrack from DOOM meet Ram Jam
(did that cover of "Black Betty") meet Emerson Lake and
Palmer and keep having quick breaks for a cig (BTW I'm a
brit and we actually call cigs "fags". Yes we do. And I know
how funny that is..) So that's good...

But you just hit on the one subject matter that makes me
want to honk ("barf"?) so best listened to with my
eyes shut...

Not quite finished...
You have potential for a modern symphonic sense here, in the tradition of ensemble jazz's interpretation of multi-sectioned works, but I feel like you drop the ball toward the end and the potential is not quite reached. Such great creativity in the first half. I look forward to hearing your works as they progress. Please keep this same integrity of sound, you are worth listening too.

bjorkforker said 1456 days ago
Not quite finished...
I appreciate the comment but could you please move from nebulosity to
specificity? what ball are you talking about? no one was playing with a ball in
this story. even during the make-out/light petting section no ball handling
was taking place. but I'd really like to know when and how a ball got dropped
during this because the last three sections are my favorite sections.
Section VI freakin' ROCKS! don't you think? I do. All in all, not bad for a song
that came together in under 30 minutes huh?

deputydoofy said 1432 days ago
Freakin' Awesome!
Now that's what I call some good use of loops. Also, I like a good, fast tune and you pulled this off flawlessly. Wow!!

I Love This!
I happen to think this is music that moves me. Great harmonic interest and structure.Simply good stuff and I enjoyed It. Thanks!

SpasmodicMan said 1431 days ago
What some people do in half an hour
30 minutes, huh? Man, blow out more of this snot on his,
bro. This is totally tight, totally drivin', totally improv cool
yet has a sense of thought about. If this takes you 30,
post more! Really sounds real. I was swirling in my
primordal stewing dreambrain and imaging Thor
hammering alternitve universes out of idiot winds.
Hammer on!
