Description Words Copyright ©Helen Mikiewicz Music Ken Okines

Our friend Helen Mikiewicz, a prolific writer of verse, and her husband invited my wife and I round for the evening. Helen gave me one of her poems to read and asked if I'd put a tune to it some time. I sang one to her right then and next day recorded it in a kind of doo-wop way which I thought fitting for the ultimate jolly occasion. I phoned Helen a minute ago to ask for permission to put the song on MacJams. She'd never heard of doo-wop but we're still friends.

Well Done!
Marvelous lyrics (Kudo's to Helen!), and a great job on all the vocals. I love the "live" feel of it with the background crowd. Very difficult to pull off, but you managed it very well. Reminds me of Elton John doing Benny and the Jets in the studio and making it sound live. Thanks for posting this, I will listen many times.

Thanks, Andy, Helen will be really pleased to hear your comments! It took an age to get the sound effects right, but I'm glad you like it all. It's good here at MacJams; such a huge variety of music to enjoy!.
