Description Everybody has a voice!

Hi, I have been following the ONE.org campaign for the past year or so and found myself in a position where I felt that I cannot help due to the place where I live. There are no activities in my area that support ONE or, well at least, I cannot find anything apart from the fact that you can sign for ONE.

But that's not true: I can spread the word. You can spread the word. I do it via the Web. I do it by a writing a song. By creating a simple melody. And I do find many people who through my activities over the net who actually true to be involved, who are concerned.
It's not my fault that the world is like it is but it's my fault if it stays like this...

I did the song Africa to do my bit to support ONE.org even though there is no ONE office in my area. But I got some people across the Atlantic involved who helped me to finish that song.

Even with music you can spread the word...

Greets

Lyrics Do you believe
that there is something out there
Something out there that makes it disappear

Do you believe
that you are the only one
who knows how to suffer while eating a honey bun

Here you are
far away from those
who try to rescue their poor souls

There are no schools
There are no doctors
It's about justice not charity

Get up now
Get involved
Take their hands
They are proud
But they do
need your help
in Africa...

Make poverty
history
Raise your hand
For their demands
And they do
need your voice
for Africa...

Do you really
rely on others
Do you really know what that means

Do you really know
how rich you are
Have you ever been to Africa...

Make poverty
history
Get them out
of their misery
All they need
is your voice
for Africa...

Raise your voice
Scream out loud
It's not your fault
The way it's now
It's your fault
if it stays like this
in Africa...

Inspiring
Love the simplicity of this song, the genuine, calm but evocative feeling throughout. I always appreciate when songwriting doesn't depend on lots of layers of instrumentation to make up for lack of creative ideas - here the pulsing synth with the soft drums work extremely well as a soundbed for the vocals. The guitar and echo effects in the vocals are a nice touch too. Builds until the end...well done!

This is fabulous. Heartfelt, soulful, honest and true. I love the subtle beats that keep the whole piece moving gently, almost swaying. What a vocal performance! Great emotion and lyrics. I love the strings that come in. This is a wonderful song, inspired by a righteous message and a true need in this world. Thank you for sharing this with us!

excellent work
nice song writing and singing, and sentiment. The mix is great... although at the very end, the main voice gets a little lost. I might suggest a small build around the middle of the song, just a hint of what's to come at the end, then let it die away again for the second half.

Very nice work here, and welcome to Macjams!

Artist Bio I just got back into making music again after 15 years or so (back then I used to work with a Fostex R8). But now I just got my hands onto an iMac and loved GB and Logic Express. First thing I had to get was this Edirol FA-101 and a Presonus Tube... I ...[more]
