Description Dreams of Costa Rica is tune #30 for InterNational Tune a Day month. Now I'm finished! This is only one track recorded on a Native American flute in F# by Ken Light. The inspiration for the licks is from the unbelievable nature in Costa Rica - waves, iguanas scampering over gravel, colorful noisy birds of all kinds, howler monkeys, roosters, horses blowing, palms rustling. When I return from Costa Rica in two weeks I'll add a second track of real nature sounds.

Nice
Nice short licks, with some really nice ornamentation.

Very nature-al
Loved this, expressive playing, and ingenious little mordents and growls and bird-song-style melodies, all of it was very listenable.

Hopefully you will hear some fun music in Costa Rica, and come back with all sorts of new inspirations... although this is pretty darned inspired by itself. I saw brilliantly colored butterflies and orchids in the forest. Have a great trip!

Drakonis

exciting end to the moth's journey!
what an evocative piece!
have a cat sitting over my arms--a standard place for him while i'm at the computer--and at one of your trill blips just over a minute into the piece he sat up and attentively, head cocked to one side, listened to the rest of the piece--so you got those birds Just So.

it is amazing to hear where you started and where you ended up with this month's writing--what a magical journey

in mouse-tapping to hear the piece again, i slipped and started both methods of playback, one a bit after the other. it WORKED!

thanks!
Thank you all for the nice comments! I'm glad I fooled Annie's cat with the bird calls. Next week I plan to spend one afternoon twittering on the balcony overlooking the beach playing my flute until I get a bird to answer back!
