Description Are you lonely?

Steve McAndrew - Lyrics & Vocals
David Patterson - Original Music, Guitars & Bass
Todd Vierra - Drums
Nick Testa - Mix & Master
Lyrics Are you lonely?
Are you lonely?

Patterns developing, questions, questions
I’ve been along this road before
Is it me or you seeking all the answers?
Searching through the open door
In the distance there’s a beckoning
Along with relentless reckoning

All is Good, All is Real
All is everything and the way we feel
All is All and nothing other
Sister, Brother, Father, Mother

Are you lonely?
Are you lonely?

Why do you ask, do you think it’s a mask
Looking out from behind a veil
Every day is a school day, always learning
To new horizons set the sails
Knowledge increasing as ignorance decreasing
Quest for more, let sense prevail

All is Good and All is Real
All is everything and the way we feel
All is All and nothing other
Sister, Brother, Father, Mother

Are you lonely?
Are you lonely?
Are you lonely?

Looking inside trying to make sense of it all
Knowing the bubble will burst and then the tears they will freely fall

Up and down and round and round
This speeding roller coaster makes no sound
Whether over rolling hills or underground……………Are you lonely?
Are you a machine, have you a beating heart?
When does your true emotion start?
Try displaying love, we all know you’re smart……….Are you lonely?
Meet these new horizons, take them in your stride
So everything you do is with a sense of pride
Do you meet things head on or just run and hide….Are you lonely?
Negative meets positive but poles apart
Logic and emotion surely play their part
Where does your displaying of emotion start…………Are you lonely?

Are you lonely?

---

Amidst the sea of faces
Are you lonely?
Expressing empty spaces
Are you lonely?

Are you lonely
Very good sound. punchy. What do you use to work the sound ? what's the software you use. You seem to have good compression techniques. Sounds very professional.

Studioplayer said 44 days ago
Punch
ssimonaz, Waves plugs is a large part of my arsenal. Podx3 on guitars normally but I think this was my Roland Gt6. Good drum setup. Lots of practice mixing and mastering. Plus lots of friends help & suggestions. Actually the final mix was done by another friend. I'll add his name to the credits. Thanks for reminding me. This would have been mixed with Sonar, waves, plus a few other plugins. I'll make a thread about the different plugs and programs that are out there. Good for discussion.

Thanks
Thanks guys. Amazing what you can do with a little bit of equipment at home isn't it. It's all for fun.

LOL I think I'd kill myself playing this live. Getting to old for that!! Well maybe not. Nothing like play live. :-)

aclarke said 44 days ago
Tight!
Tight production, great playing... blah, blah, blah. You got me on the vocals alone... lead and killer BG's!! Outstanding lyrics as well. This is important to a guy like me that pretends to sing and play guitar.

Your playing and band experience shows here. You can't build something like this without talent (and some cool equipment).

Dave- I'm looking forward to hearing your other music.

Blah blah blah
Thanks Adam. I'll check out some of your tunes as soon as I can. I'm still fumbling my way through this site. Came here looking to collab with a few folks. Have some fun.

The band
Thin Lizzy had a similar vocal delivery in their material and this is a terrific past time stimulus for reminiscence. And oh, my Yes, is an other that I can hear as an other for a comparable sound. Great caliber of quality going on here, all way round wonder production. Radio ready waiting for a Phil Spector to do the details for the road show. Oh, you can always rent the musicians you need to do a show. Two-three rehearsals with pros and your ready. But then you probably know that by know.

It's nice to have the those goodies that can make up what you have here. Good show.. Got to get a copy of this..............thnxs

Don't stop music, it's helping to save the world....................

Studioplayer said 44 days ago
Thin Lizzy. ;-)
Thanks regulus, Yeah.. A wall of vocals on this one. Actually I would love to play this live on stage. Could be fun. Thanks for checking it out. I will get around to checking everyone's music out as well.

Vic, Thanks man. Jeez... you sure have to say thanks a lot on this site!! Lol.. I think I should post something in the works for advice and feedback. That's always a good thing.

Thanks for the listen.

It's great, just great!
Great rock song!!!

Sounds perfect!

jiguma said 44 days ago
Much nicer mix
Nick has done a good job of the mix here - very well balanced and without the compression I heard on your other track that I just listened to. I really like this song, and the performances are superb - great to hear you with real drums. Love how the kick pushes through towards the end.

I rarely consider voting 10s, but if I still voted, I'd consider at least one of 'em on this.

Top post!

Cheers from Oz,
Neil

Studioplayer said 44 days ago
Cheers again
Ramonaji !! Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.

Neil. I saw your post on my other song. Yeah, this one's different. Nick did an excellent job mixing it. It's not an easy thing. Probably harder than making the music. We had a lot of fun making this tune and it came together really quickly. Days!! Sometime's they just work. Thanks for listening and appreciate the second ears.

Great accomplished recording.
Really liked the backing vocals.
Why aren't you signed by a record company?
Very high quality stuff

Dandelion_Pharm said 43 days ago
cool
sounds like Rush meets 80's hair metal.

Studioplayer said 43 days ago
Thanks
Thanks for listening Kingbee. As for record companys I think this day and age it's very hard to get something going. There's so much good music out there that blows away most of the stuff you hear on radio but doesn't have a chance unless your out there touring as much as you can and promoting heavily. Even then the chances are pretty slim. I've watch so many good bands come and go. It takes a lot of work to get a record company to even notice you. The big boys anyways. There's thousands of great bands on Myspace alone.

JMHO for what it's worth. Thanks for checking it out.

Very cool ..

.. too hear some Geddy (Rush) in the vocals .. but also some Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) too, particularly in phrasing.

Catchiness of some 80s slick metal/rock hair in the chorus.

Very tight performances all round .. pro sound & mix ..

Excellent- welcome to MJs .. er whichever one of the group you are! ;o)

apb said 43 days ago
Dave!

... er Dave .. should have looked at the coverart a bit
longer huh? and read some more replies? lol

Studioplayer said 43 days ago
Thanks
Cheers again guys. Yep.. some Rush type vocals for sure. Thanks for listening

Please keep in mind that all the music I do is either solo works or collaborations with other musicians. No REAL band. I have a ton of music with many different players, singers, drummers etc. Each song is different. Some good and some.... Well when it comes to music, they're all good as long as everyones having fun. Right? :-)

I do work with a lot of the same people often. I'm sure they'll be an albums worth somewhere down the road. Then maybe I can sell one or two on CD Baby and buy some new picks. Mine are wearing out.

Thanks again for listening.
