Description venting. just ignore me. not sure if i should have shared this one. yes, i gotta do something about sound clipping.
Lyrics if you think i've forgotten about you/
if you think you're out of my heart/
well then, you're wrong/
'cause i can't stop thinking of you/
and yet i'm trying hard/
to be strong/
and you'd think that this was simple/
as if my heart had a switch/
with "off" and "on"/
but i gotta get my head on straight/
gotta keep my nose to the ground/
and carry on/

if you think i can be rational/
like i can see through all this fog/
well it's not that clear/
'cause although it's good on paper/
there's a lot more in my past/
that causes fear/
i'm in a wretched place/
can't even look at my own face/
without some pain/
and i want to carry on/
leave everything behind/
and start over again/

it's 36 years of inertia/
a momentum that began so very long ago/
my mother and my father carry some of the blame/
but how long will the hurt go on? i just don't know/

if you're lookin' for an answer/
if you want my mind made up/
well that's too bad/
'cause you started me on a journey/
and the road ahead is long/
and yes, i'm mad/
gotta finish what i've started/
gotta find myself/
and what i really need/
and if i find that place/
i can then look you in the face/
and just be me/

tryin' to lose my baggage/
tryin' hard to find the love/
inside me/
but my past keeps catchin' up to me/
and i take one step back/
for every three i take ahead/
even though i'm lucid/
my heart reminds me:/
1-4-3/
but before i can commit/
i gotta quit looking for the love/
that's outside of me/

it's 36 years of inertia/
a momentum that began so very long ago/
i found the breaks on this here truck/
but how long until i stop/
i just don't know/

it's 36 years of inertia/
a momentum that began so very long ago/
at the end of the line i know i'll look for you/
but will you still be there for me?/
i just don't know/

Its in there
Yup, the clipping is evident here. Which is too bad, because it sounds like a quite good vocal performance. Is it the microphone or your levels? The EQ vocals are also extremely high in frequency... or rather it sounds like it lacks frequencies below about 1k.

I really hope you'll rerecord the vocals, because this is a very good song. That little distorted intro is unusual. Maybe you could use something like it again at a few other points as background texture.

I wonder if your speakers kick out a lot of bass. Your mix seems to lack botom-end when listening on my system. If your speakers are bass heavy it'll cause you to overcompensate when mixing. The song writing and performance sounds solid, but I think the technical issues are standing in the way. (7-5-7-6)

Where's the bass?
I'm going to have to agree with chikoppi. You do seem to
be lacking in the low end. Though this isn't my fav genre,
I thought your performance was good and your over all
levels are good. Crank up that bass, and I think you'll
have a hit.
I had to switch to logic to record vocals soley because I
couldn't get enough volume in GB without cliping, so I feel
your pain.

This is greatly performed
You are quite the lyricist, as i've noticed in all of your songs. You have quite a bit of talent. But its funny because my science class is learning about inertia now. I loved the vocals, but there is a spot where the melody goes slightly off and catches on at the end. Maybe if you get time you might want to fix that up.
