Description Upon hearing this short, autumnal acoustic trance, my magical daughter Maya (above), now four, named this tune.

Aside from two loops (GB Shaker and Modern Rock Drum), this is 100% pure acoustic Martin D-28, captured by two condensers. I added nothing--zero echo, reverb, trem, chorus, compression, even EQ--I wanted to preserve the natural effect as-is.

I already know how I'll re-record the electric sequel. Man, I need a drummer. Wanna collab? Check out the tone I got running my archtop through my Fender Pro Reverb in this vid at my iWeb blog. Collab or not, all feedback is welcome. I hope this tune takes you somewhere worthwhile. Thanks. ~B6s

mighty work....kudos !

The home made
delay effect in your playing is organic, dude. Great combination of the A section with the textured finger pulling to the open ramble strum in the B part - George Harrison would be proud.

Bob6stringer said 62 days ago
Yeah, I'm JUST like Harrison.. and Zep!
Thanks, Hookmaster. Your Harrison reference makes me feel almost justified in my simple A-B laziness ... Yeah, I'm just like the guy who played "My Sweet Lord" and that droning but nifty "You."

If/when I redo the electric version, I will add a "C," and more fully exploit the relationships between the common notes of the maj7 and minor chords as follows:

A PART:
--> Dmaj7 - G / Dmaj7 - G
--> Dmaj7 - G / F#m - Em

B PART
... just an open strum with mostly some low E and D octave notes moving up and down. (Not too different from the chorus to Zep's Four Sticks.)

Great piece
and I love the picture - I assume that's your daughter. Very cool acoustic effects at your fingertips.

Yes, that;s My Maya
Thanks KevBud! Yes, that's my Maya in the park. She rocks as Tinkerbell, a princess, a mermaid, a firefighter, a pretty good on-pitch singer and my muse.

Nice work____
I love Autumn and it is a wonderful time of the year. I especially love the changing colors of the trees. (PA)

I like what your doing and your guitar work is pretty good. The stereo guitar effect is well done. Great job.

Maya will be proud someday I'm sure.

Thanks for sharing,

mvh : )

cool acoustic
Nice playing. You got me hooked from that staccato rhythm at start. The parts where you open it up with the strummed guitar serve as bridge and adds interest.

If not drums, maybe a little hook-line from a piano or organ could do well in here...

Thanks for the nice comments you left on my songs - appreciated:)

Very nice Bud
The acoustic sounds great without anything on it, and then when you back away from the mic in the B section it pulls in all the natural room reverb and sounds awesome. I'm assuming that's how you got the reverb in there anyway.

Very nice tune my friend. Now we just have to write some lyrics to go along with that theme and the feelings that inspired it.

I'm gonna download it and when I get time, play around with it. I'll let you know if I come up with anything, and send it to you.

be well and be cool Bob

kids know...
...everything...

I like that you left it, mainly, for the D-28 to say...sweet

Mo' acoustic!
That's is a relief to hear, guitMan... I've under-appreciated that Martin. It's the first time I used it exclusively on a recording in years and years. (I still prefer the MArtin 00-18 for its toss-around size.) If you're bored, check out the vid for the tone I want on the electric version (someday). The woody, tube amp-slaved reverb on that vid will have its own charm on this tune someday. BUT I will expand the song and add a C and likely a D part to the A-B / A-B ... and maybe words.

Thanks to everybody, above, too.
