nice track i liked the intro. Was this done with loops or did you compose this? Sounds like a crazy christmas/halloween hybrid tune but intense and adventurous Like Santa highjacked a 747 and sold his reindeer for magic beans that grew into a beanstalk that lead to the land of sleepy hollow. at least thats what i got out of it. lol good stuff

*Giggles*
It's a traditional track - I transcribed it note for note, with a few modifications in Music Score 5, then assigned instruments with EWQLSO. I no longer use loops, since my entire loop library vanished....

im not familiar with any of that, but nontheless interesting. So you basically just restructured a previuos composition and assigned the instruments?

that would be fun, is music score 5 free or affordable? liek a couple hundred bucks or something? Where do you get the scores from? do you get them off the net and input it into the program? is there a huge learning curve? and sorry for all the questions...ide like to rescore an old final fantasy track and add more to it, i think it would be amazing.

OK....
"So you basically just restructured a previuos composition and assigned the instruments? "

Pretty much. There was a lot of tweaking and things going on, adding extra tracks (a HECK of a lot of extra tracks) and re-arranging the melody in some areas.

"is music score 5 free or affordable?"
It's not free, but it is affordable. And sorry, my mistake - it's MagicScore... It's a music notation software program - if you're just getting started out, then you're probably best going for one of the versions like 'school', which is what I have. But this is just a midi software, to get the realistic-sounding instruments, you need EWQLSO (which IS expensive) and a sequencer, but you already have that..... ;)

"liek a couple hundred bucks or something?"
Here's the webpage: http://www.musicaleditor.com/music-notation-software-best-buy.html

"Where do you get the scores from? do you get them off the net and input it into the program?"
Here, there and everywhere! This one I had in a book of christmas scores, and put it into the program note-for note. Some you can cheat on, and get a pre-made midi from the internet, import it, and modify it from there. The result is the same, but it saves time inputting each darn note.

"is there a huge learning curve?"
There's a fair learning curve, yeah, especially if you've never done any music like this before.

"and sorry for all the questions...ide like to rescore an old final fantasy track and add more to it, i think it would be amazing."

No worries, and yeah, that would sound cool! I'd like to hear that, but unfortunately it won't be OK to upload it here. Not in the public domain.

i know my cubase4 advanced can score so im going to read up on that, as thats what i use..rewired w/reason4. so i may not even need magicscore5. would be interesting to get into.

a favorite of a favorite!
Wow, a CHIP off the old block here. Well, although I really love all the variations of this gorgeous melody, and I really love *this* variation, I must mention that this particular arrangement is probably copyrighted, since it is likely a little bit too close to Chip's original "Mannheim Steamroller" version of this carol. Needless to say, you chose some nice instruments, and that'sa LOT of transcribing notes in! Sounds beautiful.

Never too early to break out
the Carol of the Bells. This is a very ambitious and talented arrangment. You definitely can score!

Nice to hear
a delightful christmasy piece to get ready for the holiday seasons. Love how you work the noted christmas melody adding suspense with the tuba cello etc. Nice combinations and seems like you put some nice work into this.

The bells really seem to work their magic in such nice places. Added the trumpets as it goes along has that nice moving feeling in places as well to add suspense and add distinction to the piece.

Cool ending with the brass.

Thanks for sharing!

Don't fear ..

.. Santa is coming, to the rescue!! This has the most swashbuckling, sleigh-ride on the 7 seas (?) kinda carol I've ever heard .. and I love that quality.

Magical
Isn't music fun? It's probably just as well that you lost your loops. It's more rewarding this way. I had a brief flirtation with loops, but found that I wanted to be more involved in the process. How long did it take to pull this together?

Maybe try for more dynamics in the future -- crescendos and such.

Thanks for sharing.
