Symphonic Ragtime Jazz (1)
Description
Rialto Ripples Rag was composed by George Gershwin. It was made into a piano roll
in 1916, then published in 1917 the same year
the first jazz recording was made and issued by the
Original Dixieland Jazz Band. In those days Ragtime was performed
by various ensembles of size and instrumentation, not necessarily
solo piano or concert band. Here I use the instrumentation of strings,
woodwinds, banjo and percussion.

Yay-
One of my favorite Gershwin pieces. I have a recording of it on piano. Your orchestration is interesting. Is this the piano piece orchestrated by yourself, or is this a jazz arrangement by Gershwin (or someone else)? Just curious.
I love your 'period pieces' that highlight the more 'highbrow' American musicians and composers.

You get
a very authentic sound with the instrumentation you choose and you always capture the style to go with the song in an extremely entertaining way. Just love your posts, regards M

Great midi work. Leaves me wondering how come your M-Audio 49e sounds so much better than mine.

Wow
Wow .. haha .. this one was interesting! Such a catchy rag, and such an interesting instrumentation, and such a sensitive touch from your pen!
Full of humor too. One of the most original creations in my music library .. from now on!
