Description "It was a long time ago but to me just like yesterday", she said as she began her tale. "85 years ago on my fifth birthday." Closing her eyes, she continued her story,"My daddy had carved a dancin' doll for me, we didn't have much. He showed me how to make it dance and I said 'he dances just like you daddy', he hugged me close. He smelled like the dirt in the fields he worked so long in and the pipe he smoked. It was many hours later that they came, early in the mornin' pounding on the door. There were six or eight of them dressed in sheets carryin' torches. One talked real loud and asked my mama where daddy was. Mama tried t' chase'em out but they pushed past her into the bedroom and dragged daddy out. I ran to him and hugged his leg crying 'daddy, daddy, daddy,' and he spoke softly to me and said it would be OK. He smelled afraid. They took him away and mama and me watched through the open door as the torches grew dim. I never saw my daddy again. Mama died the next year and I went to live with my aunt in Detroit. I never could make that dancing man doll dance." She sat back in her wheelchair and fell asleep.

	Can't seem to get away from organs The hammond sound is one of my favorites in all types of music and I seem to reach for that sound often in my stuff. Can't say that I am often disappointed with the results. thanks for the visit.

	haunting especially with the woeful tale. Bill you create the sonic theater and your stories are also such an interesting read. That organ is killer. That with the disparate electronics syncopated percussion it rocks

	I just love those sounds you've got going on especially the swirling organ sounds... and the very original tale at the top is interesting and ties in perfectly love that wailing bluesy sound with a Native American touch to it, great stuff, cheers M

	Also... ...a HUGE fan of that Hammond sound Bill. Really nice work here. Bass was a tad punchy in my ears, but apart from that minor glitch this was a GREAT listen. Awesome when those synth leads kick in! Be well friend!

	thanks I still find myself gravitating toward that B3 organ sound 'cause I like it so much myself. One of the great instruments ever invented. So expressive and used by so many different people in so many different ways. In my book there are two things that can make a recording great. An organ and handclaps. :)

	first to comment on this the bass on this is one of my favorite parts and really the part that the rest of the piece is built on. A bit surprising to me that you are the first to mention this aspect of the song. Glad you stopped by and listened.

	Thanks Michael Ya' the bass is a bit more "puffy speaker" sounding than the sound I would usually pick but I liked the way it worked so well that perhaps I lost my perspective. I'll be able to truly tell when I have not listen to it for a month or so and then come back to it. I usually don't change pieces from that long ago but I do file the lesson away in my little brain for next time. :)
