Description I posted a short instrumental jam earlier today and wanted to revisit it, so I added a bit of a break and a new section. These kind of jams could go on forever and still be cool, but this is all I had in me tonight. The second half is inspired by one of my favorite Hendrix songs, 'Still Raining, Still Dreaming' from Electric Ladyland, which was inspired by Jimmy Smith's 'Root Down'. Hope they don't mind.

Cool
I think you could put some really cool, soulful singing on this. A la Jimi.

Cool one, Ridd.

That second
half just rocks and compliments the beginning perfectly.

Groove
Nice groove!
Sounds more like rock than jazz, but it's all good!

Relic67 said 92 days ago
more triangle!
Alright! Nice and groovy. Was that triangle in the middle section? If so, that was some funky-ass triangle.

Like everyone else, I am amazed at the speed and facility with which music pours forth from your feverish imagination!

Great post.

Jimmy Smith has been
known to take issue - but I won't alert him to this. Hendrix you don't have to worry about. Great track - killer feel and sweet licks.

excellent revisions
this is better, glad you didn't forget about it. triangles a nice touch and the drums are perfect. very hendrix/buddy miles/robin trower. just awesome man, the new additions are perfect.

Sweet Music Ridd
YOuve captured some funky salsa type grooves here, totally diggin' it

intro to the summer that was
great soloing - love the engine rev - think it would be cool turned up in the mix. agree with the other comments about the added rockout (really like the short "meow" at the beginning), nice contrast to the laid back first half. Reminds me of Santana too - love the triangle and whistles - very "street". Too bad the weather is turning here, this would be a great "into to summer" tune!

Missed the short version...
...but I like this just fine. What a jam! I can get lost in stuff like this man...

Cookin', smokin', chooglin...

Be well friend!

oh YEAH Ridd - this is IT!!

is that
organ yours? green with envy. Fabulous the way you rev'd this up. Nice tensions with the B3 sound. The sound effects and gritty rhythm section all make it a sermon worth paying attention. Way cool

Yea man...
That's what I'm talkin about.
This is a very, very cool track, with a very tasteful Hendrix inspiration. Nothing wrong with that. Lay back and groove...
I've always wanted to do something based on Voodoo Chile. Robin Trower managed to get that same vibe in the second half of Too Rollin Stoned.
I've been pricing used Hammonds lately. Seems like a worthy investment, for a couple hundred bucks.

We should start a blues band.

Outstanding
This just grooves and rocks, and shimmies along right to that great change-up at 2:40 or so. Great work. The changes work, and the sound is terrific. Lovely sounds on all the instruments - especially love the bass and the guitar, of course - very cool. An outstanding track - one to groove to! Any thoughts about putting vocals on this? Either way, great stuff. Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.

I like it.....
The stealth organ is primo. You cross a lot of borders with this one, some latin attitude to boot. Lots of time tripping here. You seem to have a plethora of expressions in those fingers. Much fun and enjoyment. Going back for another time around on this one.

Tiny_Man_Inside said 64 days ago
nice
love the drum sound.

Actually sounds like it could be a backing track for a Beasties song...

Still Raining, still dreaming is cool... but Rainy Day Dream Away is even better.
