Description This word was used by our friend Lou G who claimed to have laughed whilst drinking cider and consequently flooded her left lung. I've got a cider lung, says she, so I wrote this for her. Inspiration a-plenty round my house!

Please - enjoy!
Lyrics I got a ciderlung and I don’t know what I’m doin’

You think it’s fair, I say, “there’s nothing moving”

Nothing, nothing, nothing is there.

I need hospitalisation, I know myself,

I got a ciderlung and it’s killing me.

You say I’m actin’ crazy; that’s not my way.

I got that ciderlung and it’s here to stay.

You think it’s fair, I say, “there’s nothing moving”

Something for nothing – that’s not so bad,

I got a ciderlung so it makes me sad.

I got a ciderlung; I’ve got a ciderlung ;

I’m going to drown, I’m going to drown

(ciderlung….)

You've Got To Be Kidding!!
I'm choking on my own saliva!

Jim, you've really given me a thrill - you first full throttled unrestrained vocal attempt. Awesome and natural. I think you and lengold need to do a duet. This is kinda dark like len's tune.

Excellent composition, excellent production and man, this is your finest song.

I love your voice and your humor.

I'm going to stop for a cider on the way home and tell this story to whoever sits still long enough!

You rock Jimbo!

Ha ha ha ha!!!
Love you Bobby D! I really enjoyed letting it rip in the vocal dept. Great comments - it was soooo funny when she coined the phrase, so I just had to do it some poetic justice by throwing it up here.

I hoped you'd dig it. Cheers!

Have a cider for me too, Bob. That singing's dried my throat..

The Infinites said 96 days ago
Aloof!
I know what you're saying - I couldn't do it without laughing at some points! Glad you stopped by.

It's all about the title!

Cheers,

Jim

the bass work ..what a mood here ..diggin it
thnx alot for sharin !!!

Moviz said 96 days ago
certainly
has a 'dark' subject giving it a 'punkish' feel and the thought of the cider in the lung (sounds painfull) is making my lungs ache, though there seems to be nothing wrong with your lungs on this number... your in great voice LOL, cheers M

The darkness
I have attempted to take a made up word (which was said in jest) and turn that one word into something a million miles away. Being a fan of new, fictitious and downright silly words, i thought that this one was too precious mot to capture.

Dark, punkish - all good considering it was such a laugh when the word was delivered!

Thanks Mo - always valued.

Good Lungs :)
good job on the vox, its a weird and wonderful song, intoxicating!

The Infinites said 96 days ago
Intoxicating! I see what your doing..!
Thanks, Tom - weird is also good. that means it's not run of the mill, so for me, that's another +. I like having no boundaries when it comes to constructing a line and without setting out to be deliberately 'whacky', I was happy to post this, warts n' all, just to have a bit of black humor in my output.

Good of you to take time out from your busy schedule to listen & comment.

Cheers, T.

Cool
Reminiscent of 5EA. Or more like a hybrid of Bob Dorsey and David Bowie.

Bob Bowie.

Cool one,

Dave

The Infinites said 96 days ago
Bob Bowie! Hilarious!
Well, there's a rumor in the family that Bob and I were twins who were separated at birth, so there may be something in that Dave!

Steve Echoroom - now there's your Bowie!

Thanks for stopping by, appreciated.

Jim - I love
this. Really original sounding, your voices sound wonderful. I can actually hear your Scots accent - which is pretty unusual. Inspired lyrics.
Great driving beat and production.
Downloaded. Thanks.
Cheers
Len
(PS: Interesting idea Bob had there!)

Yes Len
Let's explore!

Thanks for your kind comment - it's a buzz knowing I'm on an iPod somewhere!

Cheers,

Jim

Hospitalisation
Great vocals on this one, Jim. I like the Bobby D, Bowie comparison up there, but I'm also hearing shades of our own Steve Cole (sob, when will he ever come back).

Ciderlung might make you sad, but your song makes me smile. This is way past a novelty tune and it's downloaded for mucho further enjoyment.

The Infinites said 95 days ago
That's a good feeling..
...seeing your comment and knowing that you're into it. I'm glad you picked up on 'hospitilisation' because I intentionally used a word with so many syllables to save all those other words in a sentence (because the breathing is hard with a lungfull, heh heh!)

As always, your comments are truly valued, Lisa.

Thank you for tuning in.

Fantasic Jim
This is so Eno gone hard edge - I love it. Excellent vocals and outstanding production. You really have come up with something special here. Super impressed.

The Infinites said 95 days ago
Happy boy!
Glad you like it, K. You know that 'outre' thing that just happens? Well this is mine. A bit like throwing caution to the wind and damn the consequences.

That could be Paris or Burning Man. Or being back in Brooklyn watching some gypsy jazz then walking to the subway at 2.00am.

It's all a buzz! Thanks for dropping in - will talk soon.

cider house rule....
.... #1. turn em upside down to drain the cider out. preferably into a cup. redrink and repeat as necessary.

cool tune in all departments. i enjoyed this alot.

Medical advice
Hmmm? Upside down to save the recipient. Yes. For sure.

Re-drinking......naaaaah. It's only cider; if it was M&C Imperial Nectar, then I would concur with the advice you so splendidly advocate.

Cheers for listening, Vic!

Not my usual
kind of music, but you obviously do it very well! That's one nice thing about MJ, you get to listen to a lot of genres you wouldn't "normally" - and you like it!

I had a cider period in the mid-80's (the non-alcoholic child version, though), and that was a good happy time, so I guess I was just lucky not to get a ciderlung (he said coughing badly... ;-)

Stay well!

/Henke

Skål, Henrik!
This is a bit of dark fun based entirely on a made up word, so I don't really know what the genre actually is, but just used alternative rock rather than 'other'...

Glad you are willing to give the 'non-usual' a listen.

Hope all is well in Sollentuna!

I came back expecting to see this way up at the top of the charts! Hurry up, Macjammers!

Great
Really enjoyed this. First tune of yours I've come across and will check out some of your others.

Love the arrangement, and the vocal especially. Not a straight forward 'melody' but suits the rolling, slightly drunk sway of the music. Really well put together - enjoyed!

excellent
great singing and drums.
the maniacal lyrics were a treat.
it slightly reminded me of a less world-weary sounding Beck at times...

The Infinites said 90 days ago
Thanks!
I had a good time with this - could hardly do the vox without laughing!

Glad you enjoyed,

Cheers!

Stuck
Been checking out some of your tunes... Very interesting stuff! In a good way. This song and especially the bass line is now STUCK in my head. I like the strange vibe going on, it makes it memorable and interesting to listen to.

The Infinites said 83 days ago
Thanks!
Glad you stopped by. I hoped the music is different in a good way. Still learning...

Cheers,

Jim
