Description 6:00 a.m.
"A day, a livelong day, is not one thing but many. It is changes not only in growing light toward zenith and decline again, but in texture and mood, in tone and meaning, warped by a thousand factors of season, of heat or cold, of still or multi winds, torqued by odors, tastes, and the fabrics of ice or grass, of bud or leaf or black-drawn naked limbs. And as a day changes so do it's subjects, bugs and birds, cats, dogs, butterflies and people." John Steinbeck/ The Winter of Our Discontent.

The City awakes .....

Lyrics Sunrise
[ Davisamerica]

Rising sun ..........
Daybreak comes and wakes my heart again
She's singing in the rising sun
I can breathe and see it might work out
And I think that I might be the lucky one

And all the while it's spinning
Round and round
A circle with no ending
Hear the sound of a sunbeam caught exhaling
It's not the ending or beginning or in between
It's the worst that you can make it
How well you fake it
Till it comes again

So very
perfect. Nice narration by Dick. Beautiful, wistful mood.
Paul did an exquisite job.
Love all the salutes to morning. Davisamerica, you weave a soft blanket covering it all. This bears a close listen. Thanks.

And still the sun rises
Dick's narration is awesome and the orchestration by Paul is rich and full of beginnings.

The sounds leading up to Jack's solo sound like he's sitting out on the balcony with guitar in hand as the birds are singing to get him started on the new day.

the then the city awakes and the voices start to bring in the day and the sunrise.

Excellent work by everyone, Kudos

Magical
Dick, your voice is perfect on this. You get just the right vibe. The music is mesmerizing and the moment when the guitar comes in just stops you. Jack, you knock this one out of the park - a wonderful vocal performance. Kudos, my friend. Peace.

The narration by Dick was perfect for the wonderful opening by Jack. I love the sounds in this. This whole project is so varied and creative, I am amazed at the talent you guys have. Some are totally new to my hearing, and it's all wonderful. :-)

Warming tones
I had to start this one again, as someone in my office came in and interrupted my session.

Naivety in the narration. It is a culture that we may all carry, to a degree. The world is ours to interpret...

The song is gentle whirling and peaceful. Nice! This is a well caught moment.

GOSH .....
.. the music on this one is spell-binding .. and isn't Dick's voice GOLDEN on this ..... this part puts a HUGE HUGE smile on my face ..... it really feels like SUNRISE ! Part Two makes me wanna "Swoon" ... like a serenade - very intimate vocals by Davisamerica! Yummy! The good morning "voices" were so inviting sounding ... like I had just woken up while on holiday and all the people of the village were smiling and welcoming me to their island!

track 2 "sunrise"
Who can go wrong with Dick Langford and Paul F. Page. I pretty much knew DWL was the perfect voice over for what this work needed. I felt he had the theatrical chops to address and sell this. I was totally right. Paul was just a wonder to work with. I would give Paul a very general idea to work with and he would fire back a completed track within days. At the first of the singing part you can hear Feter kick things off. This was the track that was originally written to begin an "expanded" piece of music. I borrowed heavily from a concept used by Dajama on the repeating vocals. Rabittwhole originally posted a call for "some voices repeating Good Morning Sunrise". No one was given any music to have a clue as to what we had in mind. There was a major surprise when Age Isbell sent his tracks and included a "sung" version that absolutely hit on key. [ This is easily heard ]. I don't usually play guitar but wrote this while trying to mimic a bass run from Orbit on some other pieces we were kicking around. "Here I Am " is Helena [saymme] and this fit just wonderfully with the vibe of the tune. I believe Lena was using a hand held recorder on her submissions and is an example of the diverse equipment issues that were solved by using MP3 tracks to work from.

Although I have been listening -
I haven't been commenting on each song. I do have a particularly soft spot for this one. So many voices, so many diverse ideas brought together. It really brings the idea of the promise of a new day into focus.

ELO!!
That opening bit is really beautiful and lush (I half expected a vocoder to sing the chorus as an intro). DWL is perfect. Complex emotions here.

What a picture!
I sort of got transported there. Quite the enveloping tapestry, with some pleasing melodies.

Dicks voice
is just so perfect for this track. The fluttering background, the excellent orchestration, and then your solo. Caps it for me.
