Description Starting to plug in again. This is another Blind Dog Sky tune. I've always wanted to scream 'WHY?' in a song.
Lyrics I have seen you look at me that way before
With sad contention in your face
I don't know what you expect of me no more
I do not understand your ways

If you're looking I will show you where I am
I'm in a different world than you
And if you open up your mind a little bit
Well I will show you my point of view

I know things are not as they seem
In this heart of mine
If you let me show you what I mean
You will understand why

I have played this song a hundred times before
and I remember every chord
I will sing these words and strum this old guitar
But I don't mean it anymore

When you turned your back on me, it was for the best
That much I do understand
But I can't get you out of my disgruntled head
So please come back inside and clean this mess

I know things are not as they seem
In this heart of mine
If you let me show you what I mean
You will understand why
Why?

Hey thanks - can always count on you for lightening fast feedback.) I've been posting a lot of stuff lately but I wish I could write and record 24-7. Unfortunately there's no money in it so far and I guess I'd like to eat :)

I
enjoyed this song, and that was a very well screamed "why?" at the end, I liked the effect on the vocals for the verses, and the guitar licks nicely filled the empty space, personally I'd like the vocals to embellish the lyrics a bit more, I'm not exactly sure where this guy's head is at by the end of the song... is he withdrawn? does he mean it anymore? does he care? from how he sings this song, I would say no, but he does scream why at the end, and he has taken the time to write a song so that says yes... anyway, I did enjoy the song

Thanks for your feedback. I understand what you're saying in regards to the vocals - but the guy doesn't know where his head is at either. He waivers back and forth between being indifferent and being desperate. I tried to reflect that in the music too - the contrast between the bluesy, laid back verses and the heavier choruses and outro.

Cool song
Killer outro. When can we expect a Blind Dog Sky release?

rsorensen said 111 days ago
release
thanks eric - not sure when! I have a lot recorded now but I'm still writing, so I guess when that process is done I'll figure out which songs are best for an album. Not sure if my label will go for this style though so it might be more of an DIY independent thing. Either way, there will be a CD for sure.

WHY
Kind of a Neil Young thing at the beginning, which I can dig. Then to a fantastic piece of Sorensen, which I dig very much.

Brilliant production/musicianship, too.

Have a nice weekend my friend.

grew up on a lot of Neil, so thanks. It is a little 'Down By the River'. Appreciate as always the kind words and the listen. Thanks Dave.

Why....
you aren't famous and making shitloads of cash is beyond me. This is another of the finest pieces of art here at MacJams. Brother I am so proud to be Canadian because of artists like you. This is what we who have tired of what the music industry has done to modern music, have been waiting for. It is unique, untouchably original, and pushes the envelope just enough to make anyone who listens say.."This is F%&#ing awesome" Great tune and stellar production as always.
Side note... is Satellite Tragedy's album ONLY available at pop up? Can a person get an actual CD, jewel case, and insert and all?
Peace
Guy

:)
wow thank you, guy. your kind words mean a lot to me *waves maple leaf proudly*
I'm working on making cash for this so hopefully it'll pan out because I could really use some about now ;)
Hard copies (with insert, etc) of New Beautiful will be available on popuprecords.com, but you'll be able to download it on all the major online places too. As for hard copies being available elsewhere, not sure yet, but I think they're working on getting some distributors. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again, dude. Really appreciate your comments

nice one ridd
those guitars sound so good, do you record the acoustic twice and pan? it sounds so full, and those dark licks are really perfectly placed. this is really catchy, a little weezer-ish in the chorus, or shulkd i say a little pixies-ish. great song too. another gem (looks on enviously at maple leaf). love that ring mod at the end (may be my fave production touch). good one.

rsorensen said 111 days ago
yes
thanks michael. yeah i usually record two tracks and pan em. seems to be a lot of influences i'm hearing myself in this - weezer/pixies, hendrix, neil young, pink floyd and so on. it's interesting hearing my songs back and picking them all out. glad you like this dude

Immensely singable.
I couldn't help myself. It is like a 50's torch song.
Wonderful lyrics and great playing. Thank you.

I'm glad you think so. Thanks for listening (and singing!)

This sounds
fantastic in my headphones. Pro level everything.
Thanks for the download.
Cheers

levels
Thanks Len. I was a little unsure of the vocal levels in this so I'm happy you think it sounds alright. Thanks for the feedback.

WhhhhhY
cool tune, I dig the warm clapton tone on the lead. The dual acoustic tracks are the ideal way to go in my book. great chorus and the heaviness to the lead is perfect.

Scott Carmichael said 110 days ago
WHY?
this captures so well, the passion of that moment when you realize that all the words in the world still won't communicate what is in your heart... passionate and convincing... not to mention great chops

cjdaley said 109 days ago
will it blend ?
All your tastes blend up nicely together into something that's typical you. I agree this talking ring mod is great.

Hard yo believe you have a day job, with all your input lately. You're recording them at work or something ? By the way , what's the meaning of Blind Dog Sky ?
