Description This is not my song, this is Phil's song that he wanted some bass help on. This is my modest effort to add some bottom to this screaming guitar song.
Hardware I don't know what phil used but I used GB on an Imac

I had heard
Phil's song previously, it is a great composition.
I really like what you have done here Bill. Not just 'bottom' but a big booming tight bottom. Your excellent mixing skills are to the front here.
Cheers
Len

Not capable
Of really coming up with a complex part for this but I like the way it has a constant drive to it. Notice too that the part is a bit out of tune with the guitar parts. It is phil's guitars that are tuned flat I think, but I like the way it plays against them to give a real live feel to the whole piece.

ummmmmm.....
very cool track! totally understated but interesting and rockin' throughout.
The overall volume of the guitar I thought was fine but in certain spots I thought it could use some doubling or something for added dynamic flair.
Nice job guys!

Nice collab Bill
Man did you ever add the bottom end to this. makes for a great listen my friend. I notice the detune state of it, but it doesn't hurt the song at all. If anything it makes for a better listen that way.

Great job on a rockin tune man.

I agree
I really love the out of tune nature of the bass. It does make it a little difficult to sync because if there is too much high end and too many harmonics it does not work but with a lot of the fundamental tones it comes out oK.

Big Boomin Bass!!
That bass is sho nuff big! Big, Steady and Spacious. Now I think the guitars sound (for lack of a better descriptive word) contrite or restricted or not so spacious. That big Bass resonates and I feel like the guitars are not "breathing out" enough. Does that make sense? I think I need to study my mixdown of the tracks a little more!

Thank for steering this song into the right direction!!

Can I get that bass track from you as an .aiff file? I want to start working a vocal track on the song and blend in the bass...Wow....I got work to do!!

bottom
boy Bill, you did a excellent job of filling it out. nice heavy & deep. I didn't catch Phil's original but this is great.

good job guys

Start me up!
Well, that's certainly a solid bass. I think you're right in keeping the bass simple, given how much the guitar does the talking.

thanks vic
This is one approach to this project, It may be interesting to see what some others come up with. Several folks may be working on their version.

wow bill - your bass here is awesome. I haven't heard the original either (though i'll go have a listen now), but it's hard for me to imagine this without this great bass line in there. GREAT collab!

Thanks
Just a quick project for me ... Phil is going to do a remix with the bass line that I sent him as an AIF file. He has lyrics too. Be interesting to see what he does with this song. He can really play!.

Very nice
I listened to the original and it's interesting to compare the two versions. This definitely adds something to the track, giving it superb bottom end. I really like the minimal approach you take, complementing the guitars and percussion, rather than overwhelming them. Terrific bass sound. Nicely done. Peace.
