Description This is a cover of stevels' (Stephen Lange) "How Low Can You Go"......Steve was one of the first dudes to say something positive about one of my vocal tunes, so in a big way he is to credit (or blame) for my folk singing career. I've always held this tune to high esteem because, I shot my best nine holes of golf while humming this tune to myself. Steves' fab original version can be found on icompositions.

A lot
of tunes loose all their mystery, when you learn how to play them. That didn't happen at all with this. I enjoyed working on this very much. Thanks, and thanks for those initial words of encouragement, I think. Regards

dajama said 128 days ago
Very nice
This is not only a lovely heartfelt performance, but also a beautiful song. The lyrics are excellent, pithy and expressive, and just married to the music. Outstanding vocal performance - brilliant! I will definitely have to check out the original. This is top-notch stuff. Nicely done. Peace.

Thanks man
Steve wrote a great song. It was a blast to play, I appreciate you stoppin by.

really cool
this is a great version of this song. you're voice sounds awesome, this song was meant for you. all of the instrumentation is perfect too: love that piano and the little swells. your stuff always makes me think that Paul Westerberg should have gone in your direction. Beautifully done.

buckhorn said 128 days ago
Thanks M2
I never know what people are going to think of the vocals; like them or be disgusted. Glad you weren't disgusted. If the instruments sound good its accidental, though I did change the key to C so it would be easier to play....and I wouldn't encourage any one to go in my direction. Thanks for the Words. Regards

Great vocal Matt
This is very well put together with some stellar production. Love the little acoustic guitar accent here and there complimenting the vocals.

Wonderful song, very well done indeed. thanks for the cover and for sharing it.

be well and be cool,

Ed

Thanks Ed
I built the production on a single vocal and acoustic guitar track, probably not the best way to do it, but I feel more comfortable performing while playing a guitar for some reason. It makes mixing difficult some times. Thanks for the listen.
Regards

excellent
this song by Steve really seems to fit you like a glove.

a very well done version Matt. excellent vocals and piano. and yes, the cool swelled guitars. job very well done!

buckhorn said 126 days ago
The Glove
fits....You must acquit. I probably use the swell effect too much. But, I bought the gadget so I figure I better use it.
Thanks for the listen. Regards

slumbering said 127 days ago
Thank you for this
It's such a sweetly sad song, and you've led me to Stevel's page.

I'm a big fan of yours, buckhorn, so when i see your name, i listen! Truly. :)

Thanks
Steve got a great voice and is a classy performer. Some of my favorite tunes are "Deeper than Blue","Don't say the word is now" and "Every Dying Sun" Thanks again for the words.

great, natch
I'm having a hard time keeping up... wanted to do a covers thing, can't find the forum, prob'ly too late. Very nice. I said it at iC, I'll say it again; you just keep getting more impressive. Vox is great, production, etc.
