This is a very cool Cover Nice track Matt. Your vocal is spot on and I like the way you put together the backing tracks. the ending very cool as well. okay first off: where did you find that picture? second: I really love your take on this. my favorite part is how you got the lyrics wrong on the chorus. what really makes me happy about that is, Io the girl who sang backups on the original got them wrong too. Not really sure what she sang, but I sang "broken toy on a shelf." which means you were more true to the spirit of the song than you think. or maybe you're singing the right words, but your inflection is so rocking I can't make it out. either way, i love it. the ending is a really cool idea as well. nice drum work. i have another version of this that A&M records made me do when i used to have a deal with them. my band had broken up and they kept me on as a solo guy. unfortunately, they made me use session musicians and it's so lame I will never play it for anyone. awesome job on this, thanks for the tip of the hat. |
