Description I was fired up when Phil (Dolby) let me take a crack at this song. I was really drawn to this track because the story reminds me of the Pedro the Lion song "Indian Summer" from their masterpiece "Control". But make no mistake, this is a great Dolby track that really stands out on its own and shines. I really wasn't going for anything in particular with the sound, although I wanted to emulate Topper Headon's drum sound from Sandinista or Combat Rock. For whatever reason, dirty-ing up MIDI drums was just not happening for me.

It's a song from Phil's album "Where Are We Now?". The song on its own is fantastic, but what I really admire about Phil is that he is donating to profits from the sale of this album to a hospital in Cambodia. For more information go to

Hardware I used a Teisco amp from the 50's for the bass and guitars (not one of the cool, collectable ones). my Tele, Fender Jazz Bass, Yamaha keys, and SM48.

	This is way cool and I mean WAY cool! Great song, first of all, and what a great performance. Lovely use of guitars, and those drums are crisp and clean and perfect for the song. Vocal is great, nice attitude and expressiveness, and the sound is spot on. I can't think of a thing I don't love about this. Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.

Well, I like it too!
Really priveleged that Eric took this on - and absolutely blown away by the result. It's been an interesting experience as this is the first time someone has done an interpretation of one of my songs. I really couldn't hear the song as anything other than a punk thrash (like my original), so when this came back sounding like some hybred of Wire and a million other New Wave influences it made total sense.

I love the stops that Eric has added, and hearing a genuine American voice having a go at this is very interesting! You even stuck to 'mobile' phone and not cellular!!!!!!!

Cheeers again Eric for a brilliant job - respect!

wow eric this is amazing. I really like what you've done here. I'm off to hear the original after this, but man I love the arrangement and your vocal performance is stellar. I feel like I just listened to an old super rare really good lost demo from a band that made it huge. You know that feeling? Man this is good. I could go on about all the parts and why I like them but I wont. I'll just say I love it all.

	thanks I think that's one of my staples. I try to make one verse different from the others, usually by adding something here and there. Sometimes it's subtle, sometimes it's not. My older recordings have a lot of the same thing go on so I'm trying to shy away from that.

	trust me the privilege is all mine. Your song is top notch in every aspect. I would go back and compare the two and really start sweating it after yours would start up. 	sweet I like that approach. I certainly don't want to try to upstage Dolby's incredible song. I say writing the song makes him the automatic winner. When I first heard it I wished I wrote it.
