Lyrics That’s love
Words & music written by John Jenkins May 2003

Verse 1. When someone’s there for you it’s ‘cos they care for you– that’s love,
When someone finds a way to try and make your day- that’s love.
And if you don’t agree, then confidentially,
Take another look and tell me what you see,
If someone’s there for you it’s ‘cos they care for you and that’s love.

Verse 2. When someone takes your hand and tries to understand- that’s love,
They may not tell you so, they may not let it show but that’s love,
And when they call your name it’s such a sweet refrain,
And when they’re far away it’s like a day of rain,
If someone’s takes your hand it’s ‘cos they understand and that’s love.

Bridge No one ever knows for sure just how they’ll feel,
And no one try’s to understand it’s strange appeal.

Verse 3 When someone says to you they want to be with you- that’s love,
When someone tells you true it’s what they want to do- that’s love,
And should it ever be that you’re to blind to see,
Try to think a little bit more carefully,
If someone’s there for you it’s ‘cos they care for you and that’s love.

Straight forward
I think this a very well written song. But, there's a kinda' weird background hiss. Is that intentional?

But, I really enjoyed. Nilsson-ish.

Cool,

Dave

thanks Lava lamp
it's maybe caused by the strings- I'll check it out as I hadn't noticed it myself.
The song it's self was written very quickly, you know one of those where you don't really feel like you've had a part in it.

Wow John!
the music machine marches on!

The intro is kind of Hawaiian like... Very cool.

I don't notice the hiss Dave is mentioning but then my hearing is probably off. Being old and stuff ya know...

It's nice to hear someone else say their songs sort of take off on their own... Most of mine do exactly that! I wish I could say I had a vision, I heard it in my head, and I made it so... but that generally is not the case.

Beautiful song John!

thank you Mark-
I'm glad you like it - It's a little different from my usual sort of thing. Maybe I'll change my format though to be honest I don't find songs like this much fun to work on.

What a well
crafted and beautiful song. Great hook. I am sure that this would really be a song that stayed in your head after a couple of listens. Great musicianship and vocals as always.
Cheers
