Description After some persuasion from ik, I posted an ad in the MJ forums to replace the original vocal track to this song. 'Sonny Jim' sent me a reply volunteering to take a shot at it. I was pleased with the results when I dropped his vocal track into the mix. Some of you may remember Sonny's presence here on macjams. A special THANKS to him for the vocal improvement.

Pulled my Les Paul out of the closet. It's been sitting in there for almost 2 years now. I forgot how well she played and realized the reason I always took her with me was for that reason. I bought her back in the late 80's. I know some people do but I never named her.

While I was enjoying the reunion and throwing around some ideas, I came up with this 80's replica.
Lyrics I know I’m going to be up all night
I plan to drive my way home tonight
Staying up with friends till 5 o’clock
I don’t want to stop I want to rock...

Rock ‘n’ roll rock it for ever
I’ve got this fever and I cannot cool down
Rock my soul rock it all over
It holds me and I won’t let it go...

So if you see that I might pass on out
Just hold me up I hope your rather stout
Some unsung business still awaits for me
I hope it all sounds good I guess we’ll see...

Rock ‘n’ roll rock it for ever
I’ve got this fever and I cannot cool down
Rock my soul rock it all over
It holds me and I won’t let it go...

I know my eyes show that they’re over due
I’m having so much fun I haven’t a clue
Day breaks the sun will cover up the night
I loose my sight the glare is way too bright...

Rock ‘n’ roll rock it for ever
I’ve got this fever and I cannot cool down
Rock my soul rock it all over
It holds me and I won’t let it go...

Love it!

.. fabulous!! Did I say I loved it? Now we're talkin' -
only complaint is it is demo length and could and should be longer.

Hats off to you both John (excellent guitars) and Matt (excellent vocals .. loved the harmonies at the chorus in particular).

If this was just modernised a twinge more .. it would sell like hot cakes - I'd bet money on that.

Thank You
This sounds really good, John! Thanks again for the chance to sing on your 'classic' song (it does have a very definite Bad Co vibe).

And thanks to everyone for the kind words; it's nice to be back!

Thank You!
Matt, I appreciate your help on this song. There is a definite improvement in the vocal department. Welcome back!

rock my soul
Cool that Sonny Jim did a vocal take. His vocals fit like a tailored made suit and it wears well.

regulus said 149 days ago
Right there in a groove
Enjoyed the tune and composition. Really tight though you could have asked sister to do some wail'en with the accompaniment also.

You guys have a good sound go'en, when's the next one due?
