Keywords stukka (1)santa clause (1)himmler (1) ()
Description to be like hermann goering only lighter.

Written in May this year while staying at St.Helier, Jersey.
Lyrics Santa Clause is bringing me a Stukka.
[written 2008]

CHORUS Santa Clause is bringing me a Stukka,
He said that it would fly just like a bird,
I could be a pilot with a future,
And strike a blow for Germany I’ve heard.

VERSE 1. I always thought I’d like to be a fighter,
A hero and a warrior supreme,
Be like Hermann Goring only lighter,
It’s a dream – it’s a dream.

VERSE 2. I always kept a photograph of Himmler,
Hanging on the lavatory wall,
Just another double chin gorilla,
Mr. fat – Mr. Small.

CHORUS Santa Clause is bringing me a Stukka,
He said that it would fly just like a bird,
I could be a pilot with a future,
And strike a blow for Germany I’ve heard.

Guitar break…………as Chorus……..

BRIDGE. They say that we will soon be over England,
Where Hurricanes and Spitfires lay in wait,
Maybe this could be their finest hour – but-
It’s not like they said it was –
The Spit’s too fast – I just picked up a bullet –
In my –
YES –YES – YES –

VERSE 3. The fuhrer thinks the enemy is bluffing,
He’s telling them it’s only just begun,
Now it seems they’re giving us a stuffing.
Three to one - three to one.

Repeat Chorus with breaks

Repeat Chorus – half time-

Repeat Chorus –normal to outro………………………………

A nutty track-
I think Feter!

I tried to get a sort of Jerry Lee Lewis when he was at Sun sound by rolling the piano around a bit. For you to say this sounds like one of those old 45rpms is just abount the nicest thing you can say to me because of course I was brought up on them.

Thank you once again listening.

John.

Another example
of great songcraft - every song is like a lesson for me in how to do it. My lesson today was thinking of singing in half time sometimes.
Fantastically bizarre lyrics and woofer catchyness. Great Joanna.
I used to love Jersey - haven't been for years.
Cheers
Len

I wasn't too sure
whether to post this or not, it was all done so very quickly. I'm glad you enjoyed it and to be honest I don't think I've ever had more fun doing a track. The half time bit started by accident when I got the count wrong on one of the takes and thought-"that sounds ok"- so it's a bit of a lesson for me really as well, though I think the main lesson here is sixty years old and that is -not to screw with Spitfires- I always thought along with the hurricanes, they looked such heroic little planes and am so proud of our RAF at that time, particularly for those few months in 1940 when they stood alone.

You're right Len, Jersey is lovely and it's people as well.

Thank for listening,

John.

Well John
I think this is very Jerry Lee!

Once again the mix is perfect, the sound is great, the lyric... ha ha... I love them!

You are one very creative man!!!

evidence of -
- a misspent youth - my aunt used to go up the wall when I used to play the piano like that.

Thank you Marc, I'm always pleased to know you've listened to my songs.

this is great, like a Dr. Demento song that was a good song as well as a hoot. I would have listened to this as a child and had no idea what you were going on about.you got that production perfection, like a lost one hit wonder gem. love that guitar solo with the slide. what a treat this is.

I have always liked-
novelty records even from the twenties and thirties- in fact I think some of the best ones come from this period and so I suppose that maybe this is that side of me starting to show! The only thing I've ever hear by DR.Demanto is -Fish Heads - which brought a smile to my face.

I'm really glad you liked this track, also thank you for your comments.

Very cool
Love the lyrics - very witty and smart. Great melody, good singing, and nice piano work. Vocal sounds a little far back in the mix for my taste (but that could also be my crappy speakers!) but the mix and sound is good. Very cool. Thanks for sharing. Peace.

thanks for listening-
and taking time to comment, it's greatly appreciated.

Nevertheless you ought to see my speakers!!

Great piece
of rock and roll history lol. You do write some very clever songs and this one is no exception. I really enjoyed my listen John. I'm sure if it was around in the day, this would have been a huge hit, and you would have been the inventor of Rock and Roll.

woofer3 said 158 days ago
Thank you Guy
well I've never told anyone this before but I did actually invent rock'n'roll.......really - I taught Jerry Lee Lewis the left hand to Whole lotta shakin' goin' on.

Fanazitastic.
I like the line about being like Herman only lighter and the rollin' piano on the repeat chorus. Crack open the champagne and the panzerfaust -
das ist gute.

sorry for my late response
Thanks for taking the time to listen.
