Really nice track I was getting into the relaxed vibe and the different places it was taking me - then it ended - too soon. What's a clavinova? Did you do everything but the drums on it? |

Love the mix of electric piano, flute and sax all mellow sounding instruments to give that nice relaxing feel along with bass of course, even though I feel I'm on a journey. Ending was a bit abrupt I thought, so a little longer would be nice, but you have a really nice mix on this, cheers M |

Interesting piece Bill Is that a Clarinet I here you playing, or maybe a Flute. Very nice playing on the lead instruments you used, although I think the keys sound just a little ridged in some places. It doesn't take anything away from the piece as a whole though. Thanks for sharing this with us Bill, it's a good listen to be sure. Take care and be cool, Ed |

Very cool tune Like the Clav sound (we have one in the loungeroom, and it's a very nice piece of gear) - sax sounds good too, but the flute seems to have too much reverb to me. Bass and drums work well. I was expecting a change up in key before the end - it could easily handle more development over another minute or two in a higher key. Nice melodies. Cheers, Neil |

How does it sound to me? It sounds good of course:) I immediately fell for the relaxed jazzy ride cymbal, and the rhodes piano. The sparsly arranged upright bass does something good in here as well. For a jazz piece I think there is missing a little live feeling in the timing and movements of the melody lines. It kind of marches very straight a head... Maybe you could sexy it up a bit with some syncopes, cutting some corners every once in a while and not staying locked to the metronome... Could maybe make the ride cymbal do some catching up/syncopes of the beat here and there, and have the bass and piano follow those moves. I'm not very enthusiastic about plastic horns... but they serve a purpose if you think of them as placeholders and as a tool to visualize how a set of real horns could play. I'll bet there are some sax players at macjams that would love to have a go at this cute piece of music. All in all, I dig this composition. You have made a very cool bed and a "selling" hook-line/melody. |

Soft Nice ideas and mood . I like how it works between the bass , the piano , the sax and the flute . There are some chords that could be "jazzyfied" , by using some extensions , like 9th , 11th ,13th . Or fourths chords . I suggest you try to put a hip-hop kind of drum track , or some repetitve drums , not loud or heavy , but it would put evrything well together . |

Software vs "real" Interesting. This immediately reminded me of my track "essays in idleness". Similar mood. And similar problems with a fake sounding flute. Don't get me wrong, I like your track, but there is something with sampled instruments that immediately brands them as "not real". My track is just as bad as yours. For the rest this is a sweet track. Much enjoyed. |

A lot of thought must have gone into this. A nice elegant piece of music. Enjoyed it. |

smooth Very smooth work. A nice relaxing melody. I like this a lot. The flute solo is nice, but I would like to hear some horn improvisation in it. Great work. |

Nice an' Easy I like the feel of this track. It's got a laid back sense to it. To my ears, the Rhodes sounds a little to forced on a couple of levels. I am not sure if you quantized it, but I agree with Thoddi that it sounds a little bit march like. It seems to be too ridgid. It also seems to have all the same velocity on the keystrokes. Maybe experiment with playing the second chord each time a little lighter so you get daaaa da instead of daaaa daaaa. (I don't know if that makes any sense) I think you did a pretty good job imitating the horns. But I would love to hear what would happen if you opened it up to a real horn player(s). I like the melody, kind of gets in your head and stays there - a good thing. Nice work - Love to hear it re-worked a little - and longer. Cheers |

...mellow right from the start. I really like the flute and sax and your syncopated melody/rhythm. Bass adds just the right touch and is kept in perfect balance. ... You might fiddle a bit with levels at cadence points just to add a bit more contour to the volume of your solo instruments...A play-off would work well with this number, too, so that the ending is not quite so abrupt. That having been said, I like this piece very much indeed and find it well-crafted and very pleasant to listen to.
Peace.
Paul
