Description A little swamp music for y'all ... the song concept began with a saying my brother used to throw around, having lived for many years in Lake Tahoe and therefore spending a fair amount of time in Reno, Nevada.

From there, the song was built around a true life story about a gal that more or less ran from her life in So Cal and spent several years in Reno.

True story
Some of the guitar loops you choose are kind of over-used, to those of us who listen to a ton of GB loops. Also, there is a quaking, shaky quality to them, almost like they are third generation re-recorded loops. Perhaps if you use some sort of exciter EQing on them, it would make them sound more real. The lyrics are good, I like your folk voice, but I wish I hadn't heard all the loops before. A true story would sit better within the context of real playing.

Very cool
song, well written not in the least contrived, it pulls you in and makes you listen to the story despite the lo fi quality of the production. I like the acoustic guitar, it sounds really good. With the equipment you used you got a pretty decent mix and signal over all. I would agree with Tobin on the loops and quaking. I think if you took a simpler approach to the music, maybe the acoustic with a bass and percussion rather than a drum kit, it might sit better with your vocal, and this wonderfully written true story. Thanks for a great song.

	Well the erudite and learned gentlemen have had their say ,but to a thick hick like me this sounds good.Maybe it could be done a different way,perhaps just as Guygrooves suggest. There is a wobbliness to it but it makes it sound like listening to a vinyl,atmospheric and a an ambience... See you... Jarvoid ps Where you been?

Love the vocal, and the lyrics I can hear
Yes it has that swampy sound going for it, and the slide guitar sounds cool. Nice mix, except for me the vox is too low.

I wish you had included the lyrics sheet with it. I'm a little hard of hearing and it would really help me in checking out the lines I'm missing because I can't catch all the words.

You've got a great voice for this kind of song John, it works very well.
