Ed! This is totally GREAT! Perfect CW tune... In fact when do you go on stage at the opery!?!? The drums totally make this Ed compared to the first version. But actually your vocals and guitar alone can carry just about any tune! The lyrics are killer! How did you get such a great fiddle sound??? Was it real!? Wow... That was great. Wow... Thanks Ed! That was a trip to Nashville!!! An a great one at that! |

The coolest chorus of the summer I love your lines in the chorus. This is good stuff with just enough double entendre to be fun especially the "trusty huntin' knife" Made my morning. |

Ha ha ha so you forgot to post the drums !!I put 'Hard to Write a Country Song' on "Icompositions" and all they got was the very last note and a triangle chime ..doh!!Enough of this senility, this is another belter I just love this style ...tho' I couldn't name it but this is the type of sodbustin',s**tkickin, hoedowning sound that floats my boat..I was trying to get this flavour on"Jump Down"...whoops,not a plug not a plug.....oh sod it orlrighty its a bit of a plug....but I think I missed by a country mile, nevermind this gives inspiration to try again....I love the textures and layers of all the different instruments giving a genuine band/ensemble sound.Great Stuff..and the lyrics are mighty fine too.. Damn, Ed... This is one of those songs I wished I had written. It makes a pretty good companion piece to my song, "CRAZY WORLD." This is a fun, light-hearted romp and whereas I am more inclined to use an electric cattle prod in my lyrics, you manage to make your points with a gentle poke here and there. Everything sounds crisp and clear. The banjo and fiddle parts are woven perfectly into this arrangement. Some great guitar pickin' in there, as well. Maybe we've been around too long, Ed. There are a number of things that just seem a little bit out of whack. LOL Nicely done, my friend. ;) --- Joe |

Wonderful piece of down home fun. This is fun to listen to, I like the traditional lilt to it all. I still think you hear better than most folk Ed. This is mixed perfectly and just full of everything you need to hear in a country song without being "too much". The lyric is clever and fits like a glove on the melody. Great performance it sounds relaxed and smooth. I guess you had some fun with it from the word go, and may have subconsciously left those drums out so you could come back and tweak it some more ha ha. Thanks for giving this to us Ed. Guy |

Hadn't heard this so it's nice and fresh to my ears and a joy to boot. Love the lyrics and your singing of them. Fiddle's nice too. This is country at it's best, love it, M |

Simple is Good! I really enjoyed this song! Good ol' toe tappin' country music. And yes, the tongue in cheek tone shines through clearly. Couple of thoughts: The one thing that stood out most for me is the placement of the hook. "Simple life" is placed on the 2nd line of the chorus whereas the hook would normally be the first or last line (or even both). I thought it was interesting that you also referenced "simple life" in ONE of four verses. Again, a bit of an anomaly ... not saying it can't be done, but it isn't normally. Then, I wonder if Verse 3 couldn't be re-written to eliminate the double reference to "buffalo" in lines 3 and 4. Felt to me like there was an opportunity to phrase this more interestingly by avoiding the double reference ... just a thought. I jotted a down a note to mention the fact that four verses and four choruses was "an awful lot" but then checked back to see that the song clocks in at just over 2:30 .... wow, you get a lot in on this one!!! lol I guess it's just that great pace! I loved the singing and the singer's "call-out" into the pickin' after the 3rd chorus. Great stuff! This is just a lot of fun. I'm gonna keep coming back to listen to this one. Like it very much! |

Impossible to keep still while listening to this! It has a delightful compulsive energy which keeps it tripping along at a lively pace and it's very nicely mixed as far as I'm concerned ... all the instruments stand out crisp and clear. Very enjoyable. |

Thanks so much for putting this wonderfully happy and fun son together and sharing it with us. I have it nailed with 5 stars in iTunes... If I could give it 6, 7 or even 10 I would.
