Any comments appreciated as I would like to know if I'm heading in the right direction.

nice
I like ambient sounds, and I like dogs, so it starts out good. Sometimes the transitions of sounds are abrupt, and the loops seem a little arbitrarily put together. But this is in the experimental genre, so that's okay. As to whether you're heading in the right direction, I guess I'd need to know where you started from and where you want to go to let you know if I think you are.

by the way
my previous comment might have sounded a little flippant but I really don't know what to say about whether you're going in the right direction. I think Garageband is a great tool for creativity, and it's great to be creative. I don't know where you are coming from, but perhaps the average person went through life enjoying listening to music but didn't think much how it was put together and then GB comes out and it's easy to play around with the loops and sounds that it comes with and actually create something of their own. For experimental music like this, where you are trying to create a mood to capture the feeling of a place, I think of a group like The Books. They create sound collage music like this and it's quite beautiful. They don't use GB and its loops, they create their own, but it's the same sort of idea and that might be a group to listen to, to get a sense of how to proceed.

I didn't vote but if I did it would probably be in the "needs improvement" range of things, except in the Genre category in which this is good to great, but I do want to say that I admire your creativity.

Opinion!
It really does not matter where you are going as much as what your mood and feeling are at that moment.

I think you are right on track. Just repeat this song over and over and let it carry you to the next phase.

I like it and think it has a lot of potential. I like the marimba like-melody around 1:14. Looking forward to hearing more! !
