Description It seems like compositions such as this one come in waves. I don't often (enough) think of the heroes who put their lives on the line for my safety, but I do appreciate that MY safety comes at the expense of men and women who are courageous and self-giving. This "Hymn To The Fallen" is for them. While my little offering is orchestral, you might also wish to check out two other powerful songs recently uploaded here: Maurice: A Soldier’s Dream (http://www.macjams.com/song/44420)

Reflective and peaceful...
with a sense of wonderment, too. Thinking of the ones who paved the way for us, and who are missed by so many.... Lovely tribute, Paul.:-)

The music does
indeed speak for itself. Very moving and expressive tribute. Lovely sounds, and the arrangement is impeccable. I particularly love the patient, solemn intro. Thanks for sharing this with us. Kudos. Peace.

Musical Wings
That's what this beautiful composition really amounts to... musical wings that gently lift --- and elevate --- The Fallen.

You have a singular talent for capturing your feelings and transmuting them into music that evokes the same in the listener, Paul. It is a remarkable ability that I both admire and envy.

While I have recognized several here who I believe are on the path to true artistry, I am inclined to think you arrived at that destination some time ago. Kudos to you, my friend. ;)

Meditative

You have a great taste , a distance , the subject is "heavy" , emotionaly moving .
Your music is sad but not into drama , very peacefull and well
balanced .

Thanks Paul
I think about these guys and gals everyday. It's a job that takes a special person to do, and this music captures their spirit very nicely. I look at my family, my friends, my home, and I thank all of our brave soldiers. And, again, I thank you for this translation for the heart. DL'd of course. Terry.

great
moving piece! sad but optimistic. i dig it! you achieved a very real sound! love the flute section at about the halfway point. the french horn is hitting all the right notes, nicely panned to the side. exceptional writing. very cinematic. (i mean that as a compliment.)

This truly is serenely beautiful and is a true 'Hymn', in the sense that the emotions we all feel toward those who are sacrificed for our safety and security, are encompassed in the way you composed and played this wonderful piece. Thank you also for your magnanimous mention above; most kind of you, regards M

Stunningly beautiful.
As I listened to this, I felt my entire body relax. I've had a hectic past few days and hadn't realised the toll they'd taken on me. This was such a beautiful track it just made me stop and think. A wonderful way to pay tribute to those who are missed.

Paul - your work never fails
to touch my heart - your gift is generous and pure and it is only befitting that you have the talent to express yourself so richly. Thanks you for this wonderful piece of music.

Lovely post Paul
Nice to hear you branching out a little from the piano (although I always enjoy your piano tunes). This is almost cinema soundtrack -ish, and fits with some of Magnatone's expansive orchestral soundscapes. Very nice indeed.

Nice...
Showing your versatility too. The lilting pianissimo really enhances the feeling - elegaic. Nice touch!
