Description This is the open to the documentary, "Trafficking in Reality," which explores ethical issues of documentary filmmaking. This is actually a revision of "Amish Landscape," which was posted here last month. Several MJ'ers, including Mystified and ComposerClark, questioned the use of chanting voices in that piece, felt like the voices were out of place, especially in a soundtrack accompanying scenes of Amish life. So, I reworked that piece, took out the chanting, and some of the percussive elements. The result is a somewhat less dramatic, but more fitting piece for the open of the doc.

Thanks to all for your comments and suggestions.

Hey Tom
You were already pretty much gone when I arrived a little over 2 years ago... I understand completely, I'm here much less these days, and life calls... but I always loved your poignant writing... you provide in your songs the thing which I'm always looking for... nice to see you around for a bit..

and post some sort of link to the documentary if possible... I'd love to catch it...

I like the subtle changes...
..that you made in this, Tom.

It's still haunting, and has a sort of empty, or 'hollow' sense about it.
Again...nice to hear the new songs.

Good luck with the doc

It has been a long time, but...
...this reminds me, in atmosphere, of the Mark Isham soundtrack album that had 'Mrs. Soffel' on it, among others...

It's kind of cool thinking of you being able to work MAKING a piece of film, having the skills to do the journalism, the writing, and then turn around and do a soundtrack for it, too...

Sunrise
over wheat fields. Slowly, piece by piece, revealing one of those UFO marks...

Thanks for sharing the experience. I would never wake up that early to see it IRL, so... :-)
