Description Splinter jam session June 26 at Ultrasound NYC track 2.

LSD25 - rhythm guitar & vocals, Stu - bass, Zach - drums, Bud - lead guitar. Recorded on a Zoom H2 - EQ'd in Audacity. My Garageband is dead till I fix Quicktime which mysteriously crapped out on me.

It's long - and maybe it's worth it - but it's definitely best LOUD.
Lyrics I have no idea what John was singing other than the blues.

sound you have there, way out there, but thats the way i like it. great jammin.

bud said 190 days ago
Thanks Tokai - nice of you to drop by
I wasn't quite sure about posting this - but I figured what the hell - it's what I'm doing at the moment and I'm digging it. I like what Zach's doing on the drums - reminds me of The Butthole Surfers.

John's Blues
The Blue Cheers revisited ...hard drivin rockin
sound my freinds comin outta big ampies ...tight
tight band and live performance ..one of the best
jammin session ..I hear lil wailin of John in the back
whata super group ...I would love to watch this on a
video wow ....thnx alot for sharin !!!!!

bud said 190 days ago
Blue Cheer -
good call Feter - and thanks for the kind comparison. Glad you're willing to get down in the swamp.

12parsecs said 190 days ago
blues
yeah, i'd call this blues... or a very doors-esque jam. cool. brings back fond memories of rehearsal space recordings i had made back in the day.

bud said 182 days ago
Thanks for dropping by
why not post one of those old recordings?

said 190 days ago
wow
really cool tuuuune.
sounds good. Well done you guys I love the beats.

bud said 182 days ago
Zach got a good thing rolling
on this one. Thanks for your comments.

lengold said 190 days ago
Nice groove
you've got going on there. Must have been fun.
Cheers
Len

bud said 182 days ago
It was fun
Wish we could all get together.

Moviz said 190 days ago
There's
Nothing like the 'feel' of a good jam session..... wish I could have heard more of the vocals though, cheers M

bud said 182 days ago
Yeah -
The vocals always suffer under these circumstances. I'll have to work on that. Thanks for dropping by.

rumble on
Visceral and gutsy jam. The H2 always amazes me as to the dynamics it can pick up. Either that or your coaching it in audacity makes the difference. Anyway had it playin along whilst I play with spreadsheets and the time just blew by. Sounds like you lost yourself in those leads. Very cool

bud said 182 days ago
Lost is right
wish I knew what was going on - but that wouldn't be as much fun. The H2 is cool.

Bad Smells said 190 days ago
man...this is good!
at full belt...this recording put me right there in the studio with you.
I have my zoom h2 in front of me now wearing its silicon thong and black hat....blows me away that such a wee machine can produce such a great recording! At 6.25....magic! neck hairs stood up. Makes me wonder
what went wrong with music...fuck the 80's 90's and 00's....it all went horribly wrong! lets go back to '79 and try again without sequencers.
Top notch jam band stuff here....MJ needs more of this kind of thing.
As does the internet....do you know of any websites dedicated to improv jam band music?
Did he really drop 25 tabs of acid?

I'm on my way out of town for the holiday
so I'll be lax in responding to comments for a while. 2par, LTMP, Len, Maurice, KTB, Bad Smells - thank you all for your comments.
I'm happy that people can appreciate music like this. I often wish our jams were more concise and polished - but I'm happy when some happy accidents happen as a result of the looseness. A song will develop from this as we are putting together a set to play out.
John aka LSD25 got his name during his tenure with the legendary Reverb Motherfuckers. He's a swell guy and one hell of a guitar player and belter.

What can I say?
Splinter RULES! I'd pay to see you guys in a small venue where it could get close and personal!

Long? Yes...But it's a JAM for goodness' sake!

Be well!

bud said 182 days ago
Up close and personal
not sure you wanna go there - we sweat a lot.

lavalamp said 189 days ago

Jealous. Wish I were there!

i always love hearing a live jam. they carry a great energy and spontinaity. this is a excellent example.... just makes me want to plug in my guitar and play along.... I do that sometimes.

bud said 182 days ago
Do it - plug in and play along
just don't tell me what you're wearing.

spitlogic said 189 days ago
Yeah man
Nice and grimey. I like it.

bud said 182 days ago
We get our hands dirty
for sure. Frankly - it's more exercise than I get most days any other way.

Cool jamming session, simply a killer track!

The wonderful...
....spontaneity of this session is what gets under MY skin. I feel like I am there and, when I crank up my speakers, the whole room fills up with enormous energy. (I think there is a vocal somewhere here...couldn't really decipher it, though.) It sounds like you are having almost too much fun, Bud. I LIKE IT!!!
Peace.
Paul

bud said 182 days ago
Paul - you're becoming a rocker
turning it up to 11. Thanks for the support.

Ejh said 187 days ago
Reminds me...
...just a little of the 'Live At Leeds' version of 'Shakin' All Over'...

The H2 seems to produce recordings that are almost binaural, and take very well to decent headphones... A very big, very 'wrap around' sound... Less spacious on speakers, I think...

Wish we'd had one of these in 1973 when I actually had a garage band...

Ed

bud said 182 days ago
Interesting point - and good ears
I recorded this in 4 channel surround and mixed to stereo - but you still get some sense of wrap that you're talking about on headphones.

DWL said 187 days ago
Blue Cheer
Feter got it. This could be the lost track from Vincebus Eruptum

Cheers

bud said 182 days ago
