Description For the coffee house. Acoustic version of a previous song.
Lyrics your stuck with me
your stuck with me forever
and heaven knows how these things go
you could have done much better

your mama couldn’t keep you
her nasty habits took their toll
she skipped parole

I’ll write it on a stone
carve it in a tree
you’ll never be alone
if there’s breath in me
and though you ain’t my own
you’ll always be my little baby

you pooh pooh head
you always drive me crazy
tear out my hair and rip my shirt
the situations so hazy

your mama couldn’t stay here
she took the truck it’s your bad luck
your stuck with me

even when you’re
six foot one
you’ll always be my
fine young son
until the cuckoo birds all come
you’ll always be my little baby

my fine young buck your stuck with
you’re out of luck your stuck with
to my last buck your stuck with me

Thanks Terry
When my son was about three years old he proudly he told his cousins (my nieces) that he knows how to go pooh pooh on the potty. They replied in unison "Thanks for Sharing".... For some reason when ever I read those words I'm transported back to that moment.. I know you meant it in a totally different spirit. :) I sincerely appreciate your comments. Regards.

tight harmonies! nice slapback delay and overall production. on second listen i started noticing the seriousness of the lyrics. well written, moving stuff. great job!

Thanks 12P
I find it's better to discover than to be told but I may be in the minority on that.... I probably use too many effects but I find it hard to resist. Thanks for the listen. Regards

Just wonderful
I commented before on the earlier version and that was after i had already heard this version (on another site). Now that you've put this up here, i had to add it to my faves here and also... although i really like both versions, i prefer this one to the earlier version. For me, there is something more touching, it gets me deeper for some reason.

I love this. Thanks for putting it up for us all to hear.

Thanks
Your previous kind words helped give me the nerve to post this. guess its easier to hid behind a production sometimes, thus the other version..... I try to feel a song when I "sing"errrr perform it, but one never knows if it translates. Thanks for the encouraging remarks. Regards

Coffee Break Broke
Matt,

I'm listening to this version of this tune for the very first time, embarrassed to say I missed it. It's my favorite song of yours (obviously, since I've just posted my version of it for the cover challenge).

You really made a lot of changes in this version of the song. Some great decisions that I wish I had heard before I tackled the original version!! I fussed with the last bridge for days and days before I realized I couldn't nail it in a million years. I'm surprised to see you dropped it too! I loved it but this abbreviated version is just as good as the original. Your vocals are rich and the back ups are tremendous.

I believe that I have listened to the original version more times than anyone besides you (possibly) so my opinion is an educated one.

That said, this is one of my favorite songs ever written. You've touched my heart with this beautiful song and I feel certain that we are living parallel lives. I just wish I could drive down to your place with my son Hondo and my acoustic bass and hang out every Thursday night while the boys play and we play music and your wife and mine fix us some really awesome dinner while we "work" on our music.

Your pal,

Bob

buckhorn said 127 days ago
Hey dude
Thanks for the words. And thats an awfully nice picture you paint, only our kids would probably fight, my wife would burn the dinner and I would probably say something offensive, thats how it usually works.... though it is very nice thought. Regards
