Keywords Summer (69)Stream (6)Piano (620)Relax (28)Cello (45)
Description Simple Piano song. Meant to do it as one take but didn't like the original ending so I fixed it up with GB repeating a middle section. Added the synth to give the tone a bit more depth without (hopefully) overwhelming the gentle simplicity of the tune.

Reflecting on some excellent comments...Decided the synth was a bit much and released the second version with cello and bass instead of the synth.

On further reflection I removed the bass and turned down the cello. Then I made some careful changes to the left hand piano part and the cello part to give the impression of more chords. And finally did some careful fine tuning of the dynamics.

Thanks to everyone who commented on the first two versions. I am slow to take things down but I will take them down in the next couple days. This is now my definitive version. If you can envision more changes, additions, deletions.... send me a note and I will forward the GB file for your editing enjoyment! Comments and suggestions of course are still very welcome.

Peace

i haven't heard the other versions yet, but i can't see it getting much more perfect than this. great melody you came up with for the piano. and the cello part is the clincher. nice sounding cello sample, i like the quiet volume, and the note choices are excellent. well done!

Thanks for the comments. Melody is just the same in all. Other notes are most carefully chosen here.

Nice!!
I didn't catch the first one, or 2?

Anyway this sounds mighty dang fine! really like this!

peacepiano said 152 days ago
Vic
Its okay if you missed the first two. Sometimes the suggestions I get match up with the time and energy to act :) Usually though, that doesn't work out even when there is much room for improvement.

thoddi said 152 days ago

Me like:)

You did some tasteful choices of editing to get to this version!

i'm really liking this one. some very pretty chord changes, and I love the slow feel with that grinding cello (i like the boldt cello a lot). great job.

Feter suggested a cello, I didn't have one at the time so I searched around for soundfonts and stumbled on this sample. Glad you liked it.

Well, thanks for the interest. I do have 32 other tunes up on the site, but not many like this one and no plans for an "album".

Arpeggios

This is a very nice composition , nothing to add or remove ,
to my taste .

There are definitely some arpeggios here. Good to hear from you. I will leave this alone now :)

Sorry I'm LATE!
Put me really in a great fine mood. Great piano work and how I love that cello sound. It could use a classical guitar with a dark vocal to speech... I'm trying to get it to "Private Investigation"!! This is truly great.

Take Care

Classical guitar... are you volunteering? No pressure. I do appreciate that you took the time to listen to the last version.

Less
Less is more, and this piece has a sweetness to it, due to its simplicity and lack of excess ornamentation. Meditative and wistful, this is. Chord changes are pleasant and work well.

Best,

John

I like the sound of "meditative and wistful" :) Its good to hear you like the chord choices, the original was maybe too simple.

Micheal_Wark said 145 days ago
It's baaaaack....
...and better than ever! I'd have been here sooner but I thought this was the same version that I already faved and commented on! Ha ha...Good thing I came back for another listen!

Beautiful. I like all the changes you made Bill. You EXCEL herein my friend!

Be well!

Michael
Back indeed. I saw your new comment and had to look up through the list, because I thought you'd already heard this one. Glad you like the changes, this is now one of those rare pieces that I like enough to leave alone. No more versions :)

Henke said 139 days ago
Nice and cool!
I really liked this peaceful piece, Mr Pease! I am a sucker for deep chello and the piano is not bad at all. A very nice slightly melancholy melody. If I had to offer you some critique it would be that in a few places some of the notes sounds a bit "hard". They could possibly be softened a little by altering the velocity a bit, which should give the playing an even more natural or soulful character - if you understand what I mean. Maybe it's just me, but since I did notice it, I thought I might as well comment on it. Maybe for your future CD release..!

Thanks for sharing. It's an instant fav and download, of course!

Sharp ears. I know exactly what you mean. I did soften several of the notes, but not enough. I'll be sure to have you give it another listen before that CD release ;) And thanks for the careful listen!

Nice job. Quite sad, though. But, that's the way it goes sometimes.

Not sure if I was trying for sad, more likely lonely. Thanks for the listen.

Sadly lonely.

I love this
It makes me feel a lot. Sounds rich and wonderful. The cello adds depth and feeling to the warm piano, just perfect.
