Description This is the first cover song Ive posted - I think its one of those anonymous songs that has been passed down through history.I heard Billy Conolly singin it on banjo and loved it - there was no need to do my own version but I did anyway - its a special song for a special friend.
Lyrics Mocking Bird Song

Hush, little baby, don't say a word,
Daddy's going to buy you a mockingbird.

If that mockingbird won't sing,
Daddy's going to buy you a diamond ring.

If that diamond ring turns brass,
Daddy's going to buy you a looking glass.

If that looking glass gets broke,
Daddy's going to buy you a billy goat.

If that billy goat won't pull,
Daddy's going to buy you a cart and bull.

If that cart and bull turn over,
Daddy's going to buy you a dog named Rover.

If that dog named Rover won't bark,
Daddy's going to buy you a horse and cart.

If that horse and cart fall down,
You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town.

So hush little baby, don't you cry,
Mommy loves you and so do I.

Very
refreshing sound you make here (and you're getting to be as versatile as me Genre-wise LOL). Whatever you do, you do well though and I love the Mandolin(?) sound, gives it a lovely brightness; your voice too suits this song. I remember a kind of Rhythm and Blues style version of this in the seventies or maybe the sixties; was a big hit, cheers M

Style
New style for this one. Super strumming, fifing and singing. A very light hearted interpretation. I like it!

Thanks
Bill

Happy!
I've heard Billy sing and play his version several time, so this one is not new to me per say, but your version is uniquely yours. Such a great song which you deliver with most delicate care.

You really have a great
nack of strumming that mandolin or dulcimer not sure which but you really get a lot of old time folk feel. Plus that nice folk singin.

Awee I used to sing this song to my kids when they were small and I added some of my own lyrics. I loved this. It brought back some really happy memories- thanks paddler you did a wonderful job and loved the music as well.
