Description Update: Tom (don't know his last name), past away suddenly a few months ago. He was the gate keeper into the lake.
He would check to see if we had our cards. I lost mine and he signed our paper had had made up of the number that was given from the original card. He was so, so friendly and kind. A pleasure to talk to him on going through the gate.
It was a real shock when my wife and I learned he passed away. On a very special note, I gave him a recording of this instrumental when he was manning the gate just before I went through. He mentioned that he liked it alot and he listen more than once.

Again, I really would like to dedicate this instrumental to Tom, because of all the others, I became friend with him.

Thanks Tom, we miss you! God bless !!!! Thought a caught his spirit in a dream a while back after he had died.

* Special airy note, the benches with the plaque's on the back to do not start out in in the walk around the park. I was listening to this music and it seems to impress on me that as one walks by the benches with the memorial plaques that you can equate that with the rise of the heavenly choir sounds (at least to the best of my ability), as it is heightened. That happens in this music but not in the first part. . .

Here are a bunch of pics of the lake and it's surroundings. The person you see walking to the side is my wife Sharon. She was in a hurry to go to work so I had to shot and run to catch up to her :)

The last time I walked around the lake, I spotted 4 benches and all them had plaques.

They all are wooden benches with the plaque on back part, were people would rest their backs. The plaques are a brown faded gold color:

1st plaque embedded in the back of the bench reads:
Paul B. Neese
1922-2002
"Your Love of Nature never dimmed an therein lay contentment"

2nd plaque bench
Irene Timosi
1999
Vireo

3rd bench plaque
Betty Lozano
"She left over 10,000 miles of footprints on this mountain".
1927-1998

4th bench plaque
"For Etta with love from childern"

There is a picture of one of the benches in the photos above!

Here is a YouTube video with the same music but has photos shot with cross dissolves.

Nice place to be Bill
both the lake and the song. As always your plying is flawless, and I love the ringing sound you're getting out of Betsy with those mics. The addition of the string pad works wonderfully.

This is a beautiful piece Bill, and it's going on my iPod. Thanks for sharing

The Lake
Very beautiful piece of music. Your playing is gorgeous and I really, really like the simple accompaniment you've chosen. This song took me straight to a beautiful sunny summer day by the lake. Wonderful - thank you!

I love the peaceful soundscape you've created in this, Bill.I can almost see the ripples in that lake and the birds soaring overhead. Beautiful...:-)

Great!
What I most love about your work is that it captures the real feel of what are you describing. This is very nature, lovely and calm. I'm imagining myself beside this lake listening to this masterpiece. Thanks for sharing, another amazing work... I love you and your stuff, I bow deeply to you here!

Take Care

I am so glad you
feel this way, I know there is a lot of problems over were you live. I don't much about the lakes that exsist were you are but again i am glad that you like this.

Best of blessing to you BW !

Pure beauty , thank you .

Moviz said 157 days ago
Lovely
bell-like sounds from your guitar, it really does sing and the orchestration is perfect for giving that wonderful fresh air feel to the music. The variation is as though we're noticing all the things around as we gaze, lovely as always, regards M

MarkHolbrook said 157 days ago
I've said it before...
You play one of the sweetest set of strings I've ever heard... It's more than the skill, something else creeps in, the sound you get, the mixing... it always makes for a beautiful song!

Thank you for sharing this!

This brought images of absolute, peaceful, relaxing , equisite
serenenty- Is that a word ? Beautiful. I have 49 e synth too. lol

Peace Dee.

thetiler said 157 days ago
I enjoy
complex stuff to be done in the software. I looked at a synth at my local music store. It was a new updated synth, very expensive. But seemed a real headache I guess if you have a guitarist mentality :)

Thanks

guitapick said 157 days ago
Not much to say...
...just a glorious song...didn't even notice the other instrumentation 'till 1/2 way through, that's how well they blend in, Bill...

Truly loved this...nice visit to the lake...thanks for the pix, too...

thetiler said 157 days ago
Thanks gp
logic 8 is a lot of fun. I wish I could say that about Soundtrack Pro. It just seems so much different and doesn't seem to be a great app for newbies that don't know anything about it. But logic with it's ability to control more specifics in the plugins makes for a great addition to music production as compared to Garageband. I thought I would never leave GB but Logic has got me hooked. Especially when 8 came out.

mikkinylund said 157 days ago
Beautiful!
Both the song as well as the remarkable story behind it. In ave of the guitar performance, very impressive. Nice mix.

Thanks mik
for stopping by, I noticed your from Finland or thereabouts. Glad to see many mjers are from various parts of the world and share their cultural musical thoughts like you have done in your last piece.

Thanks for sharing ! Glad you added accordion, ever since I was young I've been very touched by the small band that had accordion. They were a three piece band and played for barn dances near a cabin my parents had. Plus Montovani's music has some of the most beautiful accordion music i've ever heard.

I really enjoyed this piece. I think you did well with capturing the outside feeling with the lake which is pretty hard to do. Nice work! I look forward to your other works! :D

Lovely music and ditto pictures.
Your music adds to the feeling of calm and natural beauty.

Makes me feel relaxed:) Thanks!

Ejh said 154 days ago
One of the things...
...that you do well, Bill, is capture the sense of space of an acoustic guitar, and you also use reverb very well, very musically rather than in a boingy manner...

This is nicely composed and very flowingly played... Glad I caught up with this...

As usual ..
absolutely beautiful Bill.

Really enjoying the sound you get from Betsy - the other instrumentation seems to gel more than usual, and is seamlessly put together.

Amazing that you can do this time after time.

Thanks,
Neil

I'm enjoying your experiments with using synthesizers. You're not yet playing lead parts on them, but this filling in the soundscape works very nicely.

Yet another winner from you. Great stuff to listen to.

John Stebbe said 152 days ago
Sixths
Bill, I love the harmonies that I hear which tend to be a sixth apart from each other. Melody on high strings, and harmony notes six scale degrees below. Beautiful. I play a little guitar myself (but I'm not in your league), and I have lately been experimenting with that.

Love your consistent tempo and clean articulation. Your synth parts are very nice, but this piece would be just as good without them.

Best,

John

for being so descriptive in your comment. Appreciate your post and of course, the great jazz pieces that you do.

Thanks again!

Lake Lagunitas - sounds like a wonderful place!
wow! lovely piece! played beautifully! I've always admired your acoustic playing but I must say, you've grown as a player, musician and recordist. This piece is great. Moving and illustrative. Nice job Tiler!

apb said 152 days ago
.. how do you do that?

.. amazing .. bottled natural beauty and sunshine ..downloaded and faved after like 1:30 .. and that's
just cos I'm a bit slow .. :o)

Brilliant Bill .. what a piece, astoundingly good... love the playing and the additional sounds added into the mix to just capture the awe of it all... and the sentiment is marvelously captured as well.

thetiler said 152 days ago
Once I get a
chordal feel, then I kind of take off on that. To story of a tune sometimes doesn't always come through when it is completed,. Sometimes I have to listen on the bed with my ipod nano and get more of a feeling of what was done.

Thanks for the comments.

thetiler said 152 days ago
lagunitas lake is truly a beautiful place
but we do have a shortage of water in the area, so the lake is below normal as for as water level goes. I think a place lake this lake is great for de-stressing, great for health etc.

Thanks da for stopping by.

The Lake's Reflection...
shimmers in this piece of music, Bill.

You and Betsy did old Lagunitas proud. ;)

JA, the more I think on the music I think that is a fitting word!

I live in a city with very little greenery and I rarely make it out to places that are so untouched by construction and noise. Really beautiful pictures and of course lovely music to go with them. Thanks for sharing this, Bill.

great writing
great composition. amazing playing. what a great recording too! it's not often that synth pads are all that dynamic, but they totally are here. and they add very some interesting textures. i wouldn't say i listen to a lot of (if any) new age, but i would certainly listen to this. well done.
