Fostex Fostex four-track - - as in 'cassette' four track? If so, this is a pretty amazing recording. The mood of this song reminds me of "Cherokee Nation" by Paul Revere and the Raiders. How many different singers sing the melody on this song? Nice to hear the contrasts. Reminds me of when the Temptations sang "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" and each one of the guys would take a turn singing the lead. Cool then, and this is cool now. I like the guitar work a lot. Echoes of Eric Clapton. History -- hmm, I have a masters' degree in history. (I teach music, but I'm also licensed to teach history.) You're right, that we can't know with absolute certainty that any particular version of history is the most faithful to the truth. We see through a glass darkly, as the Apostle put it. But someday we will see clearly. This is a very solid track. Hope you can contact your last band-mate. You had a good thing going with this band. |
