Great lyrics
John and a very, very catchy song. You are your own hit factory. Very good production too. Nice also to hear something current. Harmonica too eh!
Cheers
Len

someday I'm gonna be looking for
some more harmonicas ! I used to have quite a few but don't know where they've all gone! This one was just hanging around and so I added it to the outro at the last minute.

Thank you Len,

John.

ps. glad your pc problems have been sorted.

Someday You'r Gonna Looking For a Fool Like Me
Cool tune. Has your signature all over it.OF course some fine playing and singing. The harp... Nice
Thanks and be well, Russ

woofer3 said 212 days ago
thanks Russ
always nice to hear from you, and thanks for listening. The harp is an old Hohner Pro Harp.

Best wishes,

John

Nice
Very catchy and compulsive melody, and the harmonies ice the cake nicely.

Always enjoy listening to your stuff, John. You have a very distinctive style.

woofer3 said 211 days ago
Looking at it now
it's hard to imagine but this song was originally influenced by Buddy Holly who I have always admired. Thank you Rebsie for listening.

and what is this-
a new photograph, i like it! how are you darl? gosh if I was a bit younger !! -seriously Dorothy, thank you for the nice things you've said about my very latest song, you are very kind. This started off it's life with the short title of -Checkmate - and then during it's birth aquired the slightly longer one of - Someday you're gonna be looking for a fool like me- without the word checkmate even appearing in it once!

Hope you and your family are ok,

John

Someday
I just love your sound. Great harmonies/background vox in this. A cool creative touch. Nice guitar part in this. Fun lyrics, as always. You are a very talented songwriter.

woofer3 said 211 days ago
thank you
and I'm glad you like it, - such a long title though.

best wishes,

John

How can someone pass this up?
Just the title alone should be reason enough to listen. Thankfully the song lives up to the title. Nice, catchy tune in the tradition of the British Invasion of America in the late 60s.

woofer3 said 211 days ago
thank you announcer
I'm pleased that you like it, I remember how helpful you were with your advice when I first arrived here back in February. Seems like years ago!!

John.

Nice song...
Enjoyed this very much - good production and arrangement. I can hear a touch of Buddy Holly in there but in an up-to-date way! Great post.

Peter

woofer3 said 210 days ago
Thank you Peter
I always loved the way Buddy Holly could write such memorable songs with just a few simple common chords.

Appreciate you listening,

John

Agree with Announcer
I had to listen after reading the title. Enjoyed the sounds of this a lot. You've really created a nice song here... the harmonica was a nice surprise- I admit I didn't see that coming.

Vocal is perfect for this... you have a great sound!

I'd been messing with this
for the last few weeks and was getting a bit fed up with it so decided that it was going out as it was.

Thanks for your comments, really appreciated them.

LOVE IT : )
Happy & 'serious' at the same time I really love that -thats MusicArt ( : ) Hoping You'll take this to the next level - making Your singing a bit clearer, would love to hear more drums or piano or something on it! LOVE the harmonica at the end, ashame it comes in so late ...I was just getting into this greatgreat song ; ) ! High scores in my book & it could be higher for sure ! Maybe You could do a collab on this ? Just dreaming . . It's not *Just A Song* its a gem hope You'll do more with it Thanks My pleasure ! Lena

woofer3 said 209 days ago
Hello Lena,
nice to hear from you and thanks for your comments. I'm not very good at mixing things I'm afraid, - sometimes I listen to something and I think this or that is too loud or too quiet and then the next time I listen I'm not so sure. I absolutely hate this side of the process. I always figure that once I've finished the actual writing then that's it, but of course it isn't. The song is influenced by Looking for someone to love, - Buddy Holly & the Crickets [1957] which was the first thing I ever heard by him and is probably my favourite Holly song.

Best wishes,

John

Another Hit
Does anyone in the world like pop music anymore like this? Well, if they don't there just damn fools!

Nice mouth organ solo at the end, but also well recorded and great harmonies, but that's a given with a woofer3 production.

Another Gem from Across the Ocean. Across the ocean from me.

well Tim
I think you're much too young to remember this sort of thing. This style of music comes from an age when everything was so innocent. It would have been the sort of thing I'd have been listening to while I was waitng to go to church ! well sort of.

Thanks for listening and for taking time to comment,- glad you enjoyed it. Hope you're all well there in Jiffytown,- say hello to Felix for me please.

John
