Description I was watching a video of the great jazz guitarist Joe Pass- amazing how he could just let the music flow out. Here is my attempt to do the same.Just a chord riff with some improv and (quite a few) mistakes which I tried to get out of.The picture is of him with his 1st guitar.(Actually the first time I ever saw him with Hair!)

Cool...
Very nice piece, your playing is always superb and a very fine composition as usual. Thanks for sharing!

Take Care

The
melody is really simple, only a couple of notes.Kind of like "C Jam Blues" by Ellington.I harmonized it with these sort of spread out chords that I've been playing around with. Thanks for checking it out!

Moviz said 169 days ago
I love
the syncopation and freedom of jazz and you pass it off as though it was second nature, which I think maybe it is to you..... mistakes? Didn't hear ONE. all I heard was a maestro at work, cheers M

Ibstrat said 166 days ago
It
depends on if you call dropping beats, playing open strings by accident, and playing wrong chords mistakes! Thanks for checking it out Moviz.

Tadashi Togawa said 169 days ago
Kool
Your sound is cool, and warm.
High grade goods.

Ibstrat said 166 days ago

Mistakes - don't make me laugh
Another lesson from the master. Fantastic playing Mark. You are just too good!
Cheers
Len

Ibstrat said 166 days ago
Well
it depends on what you call mistakes (see above).

Pass It On
Where are the mistakes? Those notes just flow off your fingers - you make this sound so easy to do - the sign of a real master. Thanks!

Thanks
for checking out my song.I really appreciate your comments!

Skean said 169 days ago
You're fun
I can't hear a mistake in there this is so nicely played it can be... Simply beautifully played... Bravo

Ibstrat said 163 days ago

Lovely sound
as always, and what terrific melodic inventiveness you display here. I know I always end up saying the same thing when I comment on your songs, but I am once again stunned by the technical and creative prowess you display on the guitar. Love the dynamics, and so impressed you express it all with just the 'voice' of the guitar. Flow is the word. Very cool. Great Saturday morning music. Nicely done. Thanks as always for sharing. Peace.

Ibstrat said 163 days ago
Thanks
very much.I'm really enjoying your music.

Swinging
Even with no rhythm section, this jazz has me swinging. Really sweet playing. That's a pretty, clean tone you're getting out of the guitar, too.

Ibstrat said 161 days ago
Thanks
Glad you it.

I think some of the changes here
ARE OUTLAWED IN SOME STATES.:)

The people in charge don't allow them because they could lead to the excessive mellowness and a lack of productivity in the entire workplace :) I'd write more but I'm too relaxed and mellowed out t......

Ibstrat said 161 days ago
Not
outlawed around here- too many out of work jazz heads!

guitapick said 168 days ago
He's...
...a helluva player...

And so are you...always a treat when I see your name come up on my notifications...

Funny...I thought he was born bald...

Ibstrat said 161 days ago
Maybe
I should try pulling my hair out- then I could play just like Joe!

Macaudion said 168 days ago
Mark's great jazz club...
I feel like I'm truly listening to one of jazz's great singing voices when I'm listening to your guitar. Every note is saying what was needed and, what was meant to be said.

You seem to be one with what it is to be in, the perfectness in execution.

Always a treat! Thank you, Mark! Macca

Jazz club
I think there might be a few people in existence who actually get paid for playing stuff like this...

Ejh said 168 days ago
Yeah, I'll admit...
I was several days into listening to this when I got the pun...

It was a great moment for me, I'll tell ya.

However, despite my liking for your work, I have had to report you to the chord police for playing chords with numbers with malice aforethought, and possession of leading tones with intent...

Sorry, Mark.

Well, okay, just to be clear. You do kind of amaze me...

Ed

Ibstrat said 161 days ago
I don't
know how that pun got PASSed you.

Vic Holman said 168 days ago
hey that's the...
first time I've seen him with hair as well.

Cool to hear someone is passing it on. I tried one of his tunes years ago but ended passing it up.

Ibstrat said 160 days ago
I have
also passed on learning one of his songs all the way thru so I have to make up a watered down version.

Dee1962z said 166 days ago
Pass it on.
It sounds really good. Very relaxing listen as well.
You are so talented. You make me sick . hahahaaa
Well done. Love that pic as well.

Peace Dee.

Dadai said 166 days ago
what a mellow...
yet crisp sound on your guitar. I really enjoyed this light jazz dance up and down the fret board. Cheers and thanks.

J.A.Stewart said 165 days ago
Well, I Saw Joe and I...
just couldn't let it pass. :p

Actually, Mark, when I see one of your postings, I know I'm going to get a good helping of musical sensibility and style.

Now that I got my fix, I can carry on. Nice stuff. ;)

Wrong chords ?

Sometimes they sound good ...
Well , anyway , for many , the right jazz chords sound bad ... :-)
Wonderfull playing .

Micheal_Wark said 158 days ago
Niiiiiice!
What mistakes? (How ignorant I am....) This sounds marvellous to my ears. It was jazz that inspired a lot of the improv musicians used to do in the 60's...I miss that a lot. By comparison, most popular music today sounds canned. Great...but still canned. Oh well...my age is showing again!

I love this one Mark!

Be well!
