Oh yeah!
Hey Rid, I didn't notice the "pitchyness" either. Great vocal performance man. Really fine songwriting! A worthy contribution to the Coffee House Challenge.

Be well friend!

rsorensen said 174 days ago

if you didn't notice it then I won't point out where it is ;) thanks for checking it out. Really enjoyed yours too.

What pitchiness? Am I deaf? I see Gail faved this song - does that mean you two made up? (LOL) Perfect coffee house feel to these vocals and guitar. Nice harmonies - and that's all without any caffeine in me! Thanks

dude
this is great. really love everything about it (especially the turn around at the end of the choruses), if you ever feel like doing a big Oasis style version........
(Oasis is a guilty pleasure of mine).

The Orbiting said 174 days ago
Taking Requests?
Because if you are, I really would LOVE to hear the big Oasis-style version that you and Michael could put together of this. I was listening to Wonderwall just about an hour ago, actually, and can hear what Michael was hearing when he was listening.

Solid, solid songwriting, Ridd, and a very nice recording, too. I can't wait until you're famous!

rsorensen said 174 days ago
great idea
thanks guys. michael - honestly i can't stomach this version so anything to make it bigger and better I'm all for. I love Oasis. Let's do it.

Pitchyness?
Well I can't hear it... Great song coupled with a great performance... I'm going to be spending a lot of time in this coffee shop.

Peter

rsorensen said 174 days ago
:)
thanks peter. funny, it's ALL I hear haha. I guess it's an authentic 'live' performance though! THanks for checking this out. Off to check out yours now too

kassia said 174 days ago
Perfect!
What a perfect tune for this competition! And a great song. You've got a great sound here - love your voice and the taps on the guitar. Took me back to many-a-late-night in those coffee shops. Wonderful all the way down to the last doo-doo!

Relic67 said 174 days ago
a good song
songwriting, singing and playing - all great!
Thanks for posting.

nice
excellent song Ridd. This is a perfect addition to the performances here so far. It's been great to hear all of these stripped down songs. The guitat sounds great, was it recorded with the snowball mic? I gotta get one of those.

For some reason reminds me of Polly by Nirvana...which is no bad thing.
Like it. Great harmonies and playing. Cool sound

Lennon714 said 173 days ago
Brilliant
I can also hear the huge Oasis arrangement starting. Get on it guys! Great tune, great melody. I wish I could sign as "pitchy" as you do.

dajama said 173 days ago
Great song
Lovely changes, and excellent singing! Love the harmonies. The guitar sounds good, and the lyrics are great. Very cool. If I walked into a coffee shop and this was playing, I'd stay. Nicely done. Very cool. Peace.

Imagining...
...all those pretty li'l young thangs lookin' at ya; starry eyed and takin' in every word...the bard...in the coffee house...

Cool tune and definitely right for the genre...

Vic Holman said 173 days ago
they're burning....
their swizzle sticks and waving them over their heads.

Solid song and mighty nicely played...I'm not pretending.

Nice lyrics !
Good blend with the harmonies! Cool folk rock type rhythm and scat singing.

No pitch problems to my ears. Some nice chord changes against the vocal melody. My favourite coffee shop performance so far - great song and performance!
Cheers

Sorry I'm so
late to this - having mac problems.
Great performance.
This is a really well written and catchy song - I agree that an 'Oasis' type version could be a massive hit.
Cheers

pitchyness none
heard ... and this is a great tune man ... very nice presentation!

drakonis said 170 days ago
I hear it!
Yup, its all through the song, not exactly "pitchy", I would say it is more "sappy"... but then, I'm a big sucker for sappy songs. Love it! I love the lyrics, love the music and the funky surprise full-step-up in the chorus, and your singing is just fine... you tend to "slide" into and out of the notes with your voice, but that feels soooo right in this song, it just works!

Drakonis

A fine song
Well crafted. Pretty good mixing of the crowd also. I could totally see a two people playing this song in a Coffee house and also I could see a production version getting a ton of air play. Great song one of the top songs on this site. (IMHO!)

bud said 168 days ago
Great song
fine performance - I can't keep up with all the coffee house songs - and I'm getting intimidated about being naked in front of you all. You make it sound so easy.

Roxylee said 142 days ago
Just heard this
You are a natural at performing on stage. sounds great! :-) I love the guitar taps for percussion and your voice sounds fine.:-)

lavalamp said 109 days ago
Great sound
Sorry I missed this. Very nice straight forward song. Not too pitchy.....come on. "Let's be lovers in our heads", that was the best part of the song.

Excellent job Ridd,

LL
