Donna sent me the vocal track, it was a pleasure to try an arrangement to accompany her inspiring voice and lyrics.

Lyrics
What has been what will be
a simple truth of humanity...
A pill to wake a pill to sleep
one more for the rage running deep
dwelling in her drug induced state
Some days she forgets her own name
her friends all say she's on the brink
she just shrugs her shoulders and sips her drink
still clinging to a tarnished ring
she's frozen in a state of being
she kneels at his black and white shrine
strokes his brow and drinks her white wine
she dwells in her house built of grief
is she so far gone that she'll never see
In the scheme of things
were all prisoners in a time machine
that begins with hello ends with good bye
as certain as the day turns to night
the whipporwhil is bound to sing
The pendulum forget to swing
that's just how it is in the scheme of things
Thats just how it is in the scheme of things
what has been what will be
a simple truth of humanity...
telling her tale isn't easy
you must see by now that she is me
another day another time
before I came to realize
there is a time to dwell in the sorrow
a time to live for one more tomorrow
In the scheme of things
were all prisoners in a time machine
that begins with hello ends with good bye
as certain as day turns to night
the whipporwhil is bound to sing
The pendulum forget to swing
that's just how it is in the scheme of things
Thats just how it is in the scheme of things
In the scheme of things
were all prisoners in this time machine
thats just the way it is...
in the scheme of things..

intriguing collab
a good message- let the past go, and look towards tomorrow's new hope. Cool laying of vocals and percussion.

yeah, really great message. The lyrics and vocals are terrific. Andreas, you're such a master, and the range of genres you're a master OF, is just daunting! Thanks for this - congrats

Man....
....this say a LOT...
Great, great collaboration...wonderful stuff...well, considering the subject matter, maybe "wonderful" isn't exactly the right word...extremely artistically chilling and sobering may be more like it...

amazing
What an amazing construction!
I love how you open with a chorus line and then repeat that chorus throughout the song using different combinations of voices. The effect really becomes hypnotic.
The drama seems darkly philosophical, but the "tarnished ring" tells us it's a love-gone-bad saga. Nice twist in the story line when the singer sings "you must see by now that she is me."

Very thought provoking and I can see this being performed on a live stage
in a theatre. Brilliant Collab. Well done all you guys. Great lyrics , music.
and singing.
Peace Dee.

Different
A very different kind of a track, in a good way. Reminds me of "Go Ask Alice" by Jefferson Airplane. The chorus is very hooky and helps to tie the whole thing together.
The female vocal is earnest and draws in the listener.
An especially good job of recording the female vocal. Very clear and nicely EQed.
I love the vibra-slap!
