Beautifully played Bill
You have a way of putting the emotions into a piece of music like no one else I've heard in years my friend. You technique is as flawless as ever, but it's that special quality you put into that make this a very special effort.

Thanks for sharing this with is my friend.

Be well, and stay cool man,

Ed

Capricho
wow bill - you're just SUCH an awesome guitarist. Everytime I see that there's a new upload from you, I get high with anticipation, because I know that, whatever it is, it's going to blow me away. Congrats on this - your talent is just stunning!

Great as usual
Mr Tiler! Your guitar work stands above!

drakonis said 176 days ago
love this, as you do
Gorgeous little mordents and vibratos here and there... your touches on the strings here are dripping with romance and emotion. You have a great sense of timing too, slowing and speeding up, adding lots of anticipation. Excellent performance, wonderfully recorded too... crisp, clear, and resonant sound... is this (Heavens-to) Betsy? Bravo!

Drakonis

Mr. Tarrega...
...is one of my favorites. This is a tough piece to play, Bill...and you do it very, very well. I esp. like how you take your time with it. I think his pieces often call for that.

Wonderful, deep tone out of your guitar, too.

Is really a miniature guitar masterpiece. You play it beautifully. The transition into D major in the middle is just incredible.I really miss playing nylon string!

and nicely performed and recorded, Bill.

You really are an
outstanding musician. Such great playing, technically brilliant and filled with feeling and expressiveness. I am in awe. Beautiful piece, too. Nicely done. Peace.

LunaTrick said 175 days ago
I love the tone and sustain
you get on this piece. I think I heard Parkening of one of the Romeros do this piece - and this is on that level. Wonderful phrasing and dynamics. Truly delightful!

kassia said 175 days ago
wonderful
Amazing guitar work. You always calm me right down and make me focus on nothing but those strings. This is a beautiful song. Thank you for sharing it with us!

thetiler said 175 days ago
thanks kassia
enjoyed your latest as well.

Dadai said 175 days ago
I wish...
I could do this! ;) Seriously, it is surely something that you can have such command of fingers and fret board. Bill, this is a very tender piece... and as always, an immensely professional performance and production.

Thanks Dadai
for coming by. Terrega inspires a lot of people I think. He simple is a great composer and is a very musically infectious one I think!

Fantastic
I'm impressed, as I always am by your playing. You play with such warmth, and so expressively (and very clean). What make of guitar do you use here? I really like the sound.

thetiler said 173 days ago
I play a Taylor single cutaway guitar
with nylon string. It is electrified but I didn't use that for the recording.
Thanks for comment cc.

digging deeper
This is the second time this week I've had to do more research on a composer I didn't know after having listened to a piece posted on MacJams.

In the past I would've gone to a library or a book or record store to learn more, but now the Internet makes the effort so much easier. First I googled the name "Francisco Tarrega" and read some biography, then I jumped on You Tube and watched some performances of works like "Lagrima," "Adelita" and "Marieta" ... and just like that, I was better educated!

Funny thing is - I already knew Tarrega from a different composition, the tremelo study "Recuerdos de la Alhambra," which I have on my iPod - I just didn't realize he was the composer.

Your work here is up to its usual standard of excellence. I've both enjoyed listening to it ... and learning from it.

So glad
I helped in the cause of furthering Terrega's genius. He is such a great composer of classical guitar. I think this piece is truly one of his greatest compositions. But of course the one you mentioned is fantastic as well. Thanks
