the right hand .indeed the percussionist just amazin !

Builds up
I'm a big fan of musics in several parts .
Thank you very much

DWL said 180 days ago
High quality again
marvellous Henri.

Lovely moods and textures with some fine percussion to complement your own artistry.

Cheers

Dick

Moods
Thank you very much .
Ismael and I have the same musical taste .
When I play his music I feel I could have composed it , same for him
with mine .
He also recorded this .

kassia said 180 days ago
oh wow!
Another fabulous piece of piano artistry that just takes my breath away. Very cool percussion along on this journey. You are amazing. I'd love to see you play live someday. Thanks for another great tune!

HenriROGERsoloandbands said 179 days ago
Breath
Thank you very much .
Yes it's a music for "live" .
It has elements that come
only in concerts , an other dimension of instant creation,
the audience feels it .
When we record we try to keep in mind this live feel .

Eckleiste said 180 days ago
great
harmonies and outstanding playing!

HenriROGERsoloandbands said 179 days ago
Harmonies

Thank you very much .
It's inspired by jazz fusion band Soft Machine early albums
70's.

peacepiano said 180 days ago
Combo
You and M Robert make a very fine combo. I really like the rhythmic variety.

Thanks
Bill

HenriROGERsoloandbands said 179 days ago
Variety
Thank you very much .
Yes we need to work on rythmic , harmonic variety.
The sounds are "limited " with the duo .

Ibstrat said 179 days ago
Your
improvisations never cease to amaze me.You know how to build a solo in a very logical way.The part in the middle where you sped up reminded me of a bluegrass band playing double time except that you are playing 7/4 time and much more free improv! You are a truly great musician.Percussion is world-class also.

HenriROGERsoloandbands said 179 days ago
Logical
Thank you very much .
The way I build the solos is a mix of control
and let go , but I prepare the roads I'll take a lot .
I know better now how each idea will sound while playing.

The Orbiting said 178 days ago
Wow!
Obviously, there is so much to love about this, not the least of which is the incredible energy that builds over the song. I agree with the people who have mentioned how absolutely fantastic it would be to attend a performance of this live. It would be an incredible thrill.

Live

Yes , it's also music to be seen .
Thank you very much .

jiguma said 177 days ago
Mmmmmmm!
Henri, I've only just realised you've been here in a different guise - sorry for missing so many of your tunes.

This is so easy on the ears - a really beautiful bit of piano playing. I'm in awe of all those notes coming out of two hands. Really enjoyed the percussion also.

Any chance you'll be at Montreaux in July? We'll be living in Switzerland for July/August - I'd love to see you play live.

Thanks for this wonderful piecs.

Neil

sorry,
that's July/August 2009.

2009

We're not too far from Montreux ...
Let me know for next year .
I'm very glad many listeners wish to see this duo live .
Thank you very much .

We'll actually be closer to Neuchatel (about 10 minutes "up the hill"). Will have to see where you're playing closer to the time.

Hey~
This is g-r-e-a-t!

About halfway through I realized it was just the two of you and not a full band...incredible.

Fantastic energy...

I have a very good friend (trumpet/composer) in Poitier. Could ask him to look you up, Henri, if you're interested...where are you based, anyway?

HenriROGERsoloandbands said 177 days ago
Poitiers

I'm on the french riviera , not close to Poitiers , but it's
nice to meet people form everywhere with the web .
Maybe give him my myspace ?
Thank you very much .

This Reminded Me Of...
what it used to be like when I was in the thick of deadline work. The slow build-up, the sudden frenetic, maddening burst of activity as the moment of truth (or consequences) arrives... and then the exhausted deflation that follows.

Like Feter, I could hear some Brubeck overtones, but strangely, I also felt the subtle influence of Gershwin in here.

Nicely done, Henri. ;)

Deadlines

You are very right about this build up .
Brubeck, Gerswhin and many others : American music
has inspired me a lot , still does .
Thank you very much .

Mysterious sound space.
Very good jazz.

Mysterious

Thank you very much .

Great flow.
Henri, I really enjoy the way this builds up from a basic phrase to become so well-developed creation. Thanks for posting this. Very cool - so sounds like we're into the same sorts of ideas!
