Description I wrote and recorded this about 1992 on a portastudio with the help of an Atari 1040 and some very budget gear. The piano is a real one. The recording is very tinny and not good so I've disabled the ratings thingy as I'm already aware of it's short comings.

- there is a story but it's a bit involved and I dont think anyone would be interested - it's about someone I used to work with some years ago who wanted to get married to some gal he'd never met from the continent, -the upshot was that he was trying to get money out of his mother so he could buy a house for him and his proposed bride. Needless to say his mother didn't go for it and they all lived happily ever after.

hi Feter-
yes, I suppose this is as near to a rap as I'm ever going to get. I appreciate your comments, thank you,

I'd like to buy a Jaguar
but my bank account won't stretch that far.
Love this John - fantastic song and excellent arrangement - this could really do with being re-recorded, it would certainly be worth the effort. Great lyrics and mega performance.
Cheers
Len

Leonardo, thank you-
I have thought about re recording this one several times, it did make an appearance on icomp but failed miserably, don't think it even had a comment.

I appreciate your comments Marc
thank you for such kind words, they mean a great deal to me. This really is an old track and not very well recorded either, -still I'm glad you have judged it as a song.

Best wishes,

John.

Techno rap....
Well, I like the sound on this :-)

Great lyrics and nice changes in the backing.

Cheers

Dick

is this techno rap?
I wouldn't know, I'm hopeless. I seem to remember liking the interplay between the bass and the piano. Thanks Dick, it's good to hear from you. Glad you like it.

Frank Zappa Lives!
This reminds me of "Dinah Mo Hum" by Zappa, especially the vocal and the lyrics.

Very solid rhythm section. Nice chorus too, with a plaintive harmony.

Good one.

woofer3 said 224 days ago
A huge compliment indeed
I remember the night I heard Zappa had died, -I was doing a gig in a place called Ellington's in Swansea, and it just knocked me for six. Dinah Moe Humm.......what a track and what a band. I only wish this track had been recorded a little better. Thanks again Tim.
