Description Just a merry summer ditty! The lyrics are nonsense.
Lyrics Captain Caveman

Pole fishing on a friday
Trading shadows in the dust
With an indian on the highway
White water for rust

I could be lying in a hogs head
Stirring whiskey in the grass
Could be sneakin round the schoolyard
But I never made a class

Cos my daddy's never sober
I keep fallin over - like father like son
And I been longing for the cornfields
Where my girl is waiting
To cut the money and run

Well this rock can roll
To my Missisippi Island
Will the music take my soul?
If I die beneath the moonshine

There is gold beneath the mountains
A rainbow painted on my wings
And no-one tells me who to follow
I chase the footprints of the kings

And anytime you need to call me
Alright I'll be the nightmare crawling out
From under your head stone
You take an arrow to the heart
You know the only way to breakout
Is to breakout/freakout/watchout
If Summer winds begin to blow cold

Fragments of your world
Orbit and collide
A giant on the edge
Scatters comets far and wide
All the women glide without fear
Naked through the warzone
And lanterns in your eyes glow with life

Scooby Dooby Doo,Captain Caveman and the Jetsons
Could be the next religion
To keep the population guessing
You dont have to be naive to
All the problems that were facing
But in everything you do
It helps to keep the laughter
racing

Starlings in the sky
Circle above the pier
Spelling out the answers
But we cannot hear

Ah now I understand
Thank you for this one .. lyrics got me into deep thinking, now I understand so much more about the undercurrents of life and the meaning of it all.

Joing aside .. a really good swinging song where the words subordinate and support the music rythm and expressions. You are a real master of the art in which mr Lennon was a precursor .. (Btw, this is Johannes writing on behalf of the WeAreNotPerfekt band). A favourite example of the Lennonish writing:

"The man in the crowd with the multicolored mirrors on his hobnail boots
Lying with his eyes while his hands are busy working overtime
A soap impression of his wife which he ate and donated to the National Trust"

peace

paddler said 228 days ago
..
haha! - thanks curry - those lyrics are hilarious! I particularly like the reference to the national trust!
Lennon? wow thats amazing - I dont have his hair though..
Good to see you again Johannes

Drivin'
Richard,
I have have been waiting for a drivin' ramblin' rocker from you you for a while now and my friend, you did not dissappoint. I LOVE this song. Totally fun, your lyrics are awesome, playful and your vocals are incredible warm and luscious as ever, the guitars artfully distorted like analogue tape overload. I love how the words come rapid-fire in the main and then slow and silky in the choruses. Genius. fav'd and Dl'd.
Philip

paddler said 228 days ago
..
Thanks Phil - your spot on again - tape analogue sound is exactly how i'd describe it - sounded a bit dodgy a first but well - cant always perfect everything down to the last billimillimeter of sound - somwetimes just throw caution to the wind.Great to see you still around, man!

jiguma said 227 days ago
Really good tune
Like the lyrics and guitars, and your vocal works fine for me too. Would love to be able to hear what's happening in the bass department.
