Description This is a mixture of Romance, the famous classical guitar piece. No one know the originator of it. But many famous classical guitarist have played a version adapted by Narcisco Yepes.

I have added a awful lot of my own style on my Santa Cruz acoustical om/pw steel string. Using 451 stero mics, AKGs.

The picture without the guitar is one of La Sagrada Familia Barcelona. I found the picture and bought it at Dreamtime photo online. So I combined both the La Sagrada image, a guitar, the tune Romance,a awful lot of my own creations as well.
Hardware RNP - Real Nice Preamp, Personus Firebox.

It felt good and it felt bad...
It felt good while you were playing, it felt bad when you stopped. Would love to be able to do this. Very, very nice. Loved every note. Terry

This is...
...a wonderful rendition of the original with beautiful sets of variations.

Some kinda sound out of that Santa Cruz, Bill. Those are great guitars and you got a honey, there...

thoddi said 239 days ago
I've tried to play this one
and know that it's no easy task:) Sounds to me like you play this pretty effortless and confident.

Cool to hear his tune... I usually give up after a few bars...

Well done my friend:)

thetiler said 239 days ago
Thanks
I think the greatest challenge was to make the sound a bit more steel string sensitive. Use a bit more of an open tuning sound, though it's not. But to give a bit more of a drone sound in some parts to make the steel string come alive. Plus the micing is always a challenge in tunes like this. Because that tune was completely written for nylon string.

Ibstrat said 239 days ago
This
actually sounds great on steel string.I like your rubato kind of free form treatment. That guitar sounds amazing and your playing is beautiful.

LunaTrick said 239 days ago
Deft touch!
A unique take on the piece and exquisitely played. Just wondering - is the Santa Cruz trebly - or is that the mix. I'm doing some work with my Yairi - and EQing solo can be a nightmare. Very tasteful though!

thetiler said 239 days ago
That is my eternal quest in
music. To not get it too trebly. But it is very tough when you play a classical guitar piece on an acoustical steel string.

Gourgeous
Tones magnificant playing sounds wonderful
Thank you for the download.

Peace Dee.

Another incredible post Bill
Betsy sounds beautiful on this. Interesting how the mic in the LH channel gets all the attention but now and then you must shift in your seat and the RH side gets a bit more of the action. Makes it sound very natural and "alive".

I really enjoy your playing most when you do straight guitar-only tunes Bill. It really showcases your wonderful skills.

Romanza
Superb tone and playing Bill. I like this better than the more produced version you did at http://www.macjams.com/song/41458 (though that is great too!). One to download.

A sweet and soulful serenade...
that I found myself wistfully humming along with.
You do have a way of making everything you play your own.
Lovely.

You're so amazing! I can hardly even picture how you get your fingers to do what they do on your guitar. You're simply a master on the guitar, and with music in general. MJ is so lucky to have you! Thanks

woofer3 said 237 days ago
there is hardly
any need for comment as it is as always perfect. Beautifully played and recorded. Clear and full.

John.

Having
listened to this it makes me wonder why I bother picking a guitar up at all, except maybe to swat wobbies (wasps) from now on:-)Fantastic version tho' it makes me sick, envious, frowning and sulking, but can't deny it's a kick up the backside to improve....lol, Nice one

i hope not to be a trashing or a penalty.
I hope musicians can find fun and happiness in playing their music. I hope to be able to influence them to bring out the beauty in music. Not that I always do that, but I love listening to laid back music and I hope the world will be more touched by it like it was in the 50. Not that I don't love rock, but it would be great if there were more instrumentals with out loud percussion. But I don't really make percussion my main theme in all my music.

I think when I listen to a great piece of music, it really is wanting to be part of it, to live in it and be surrounded by it. A great musician can be good at one thing and maybe another think he can be sub par. No musician really has it all.

I remember at a very pro guitar store, that a guitar salesmen told me he heard a very famous classical guitarist. Very famous, and said he wanted to expand his realm of musical styles, so he played african jazz with tons of intricate rhythms and he just didn't have the feel for it in is on stage performance.

I was very surprised when he told me that, cause he is such a legend.
Your unique, all us human beings are.
Thanks for stopping by!
