Description Speaks for itself I hope
Lyrics I was thrown into the wild
naked, lost I was blind
maybe where you were set free
but the wild is no place for me

But please god help me to undertand

I am no religious man
But what is this in my hands
Something I cannot hold
He was meant to grow old

Down from the hillside onto the shoreline,
From the beach onto the sea
Lost in the shadows of the currents
deep in the ocean where I cant see

I now see you in memory
Photographs and stories
So much these can do?
If theyre close to me then I'm close to you

But no one can help us understand!

Nice song
The very upfront vocals make this a very intimate performance - flows along really well.

Thanks for sharing

With the soft strum of your guitar and the power in your delivery make the perfict combo for this song. Fine writing and a very nice voice.
Thanks and take care, Russ

Thanks Russ
I thought this would be best being quiet. I messed around with adding stuff but this one works just as is. Thanks for checking it out! Gav

Welcome back
Been a long time Gav. This, to me, is on the same level as Jeff Buckley - the vocal delivery is true and heartfelt, the emotion raw - your voice has so much character. This speaks quietly but in a strong voice - a beautiful tribute.

nuff said.... I hope you are well, and its great to hear from you.

Hey
Thanks for dropping by to my dusty profile page. Yep - its been a while as I have only been getting back into writing as well as listening to music properly again. Besides anything else, laziness has a huge part to play - plus I have been really busy. I hope to be getting a bit more active round here again so I'll be seeing you araound!

Thanks again!

nice. it's been a while
really like the stripped down basic approach to this. cool melody and vocals are right on top of it.

Hi Gav, this is the first one of yours I've heard. Fantastic vocal with a beautiful tune. I wasn't sure about the guitar tone at first. I'm guessing you use thumb and fingers with not much thumb nail hitting the strings. After a minute though I realised the gentle mellow tone you get just fits so well with the mood here and anymore attack or brightness from the strings just aren't needed. Great song and performance!
All the best

Thanks Steve. I actually stupidly cut my fingernails before I recorded this track but in hindsight I like the way it sounds soft. Thanks very much for the lovely comment. Gav

Gav - welcome back!
Good song, great vocal - I also hear a Jeff Buckley reference (with an English accent) in the style of song. A little bit of contradiction between the great sound you've got on the vocal and the muffled sound of the guitar. A little compression on the guitar might do wonders to this. For some reason I'm getting flashes of Peter Sarstedt.

The soft guitar isn't a nit really - just a personal preference. I love the melody - your vocal really does sound fantastic here.

Thanks Neil
Thanks Neil. I'l be contributing a bit more again and thanks for remembering me. I agree with the guitar. I'll probably re-record it soon when my fingernails grow a bit more to emphasize the plucking. I'll try a bit of compression too - thanks for the tip! Gav
