irish jigs I really tried hard to hear the roughness and lack of polished playing you describe. Sorry, I couldn't hear it -it all sound great to me. I've heard this kingd of music live in pubs in Kerry and this sounds like the real deal! All the best Steve |

I noticed Bit pitchy towards end (I'm a picky sod)....nice piece, though. Fiddle sound in particular is all about the room, and then mic placement; sounds like a fiddle as is, so I don't know what you're going for here. Cheers, Shaky |

Forget polish! Polished smolished! The main thing is, the spirit comes across in your playing, and it does. I'm an aspiring fiddler and guitarist also, and I really like this track. Great job. |

Great fiddle Hiya - glad I came across this one! Really nice fiddle playing - a lovely light touch to those melody lines. The other half of Cadman - Chaz - plays fiddle, such that our latest collection of songs is called - On The Fiddle. We get around the mic placement (and when playing live, feedback) problems by using an electric violin :-) I think it's tough getting a good violin sound - and TBH what you have sounds pretty good to me - that is, it's not too shrill or overpowering. If you wanted to improve it, it currently seems like perhaps you're getting a bit too much of the room - so I'd be trying out attempting to mic it up much closer (with hopefully a directional mic) and see where that gets you. Possibly nowhere - but hey, isn't life one long experiment? :-) /is feeling strangely philosophical, pre-supper. |

never been to Ireland, but this really sounds like something you would hear in a pub.Your playing on both instruments sounds great to me!
