Description I downed this new loop refill for reason from Line 6, stumbled onto this killer drum loop and the rest just sorta happened...... Kinda! This is 100% loopidity, bounced between Reason 4, Logic 8 & Peak pro 5.. This reminds me so much of EB. that I had to toss it out there for people to hear, of course, it's not completed.... imagine that? Here's to you brother Ean......
Lyrics Soon, I hope!

Excellent work Axe!
And a very cool sounding paean to an undersung and often overlooked MJ talent!

In the words of Feter and Ziti: Deepest bows!

Be well!

Vic Holman said 246 days ago
jeez leave it to you
this is so bizzarely cool!. the contrast is unique between the styles but pulls together in a very cohesive. great mix and production too!

What a trip Axe.

Very cool ..

.. Ian's classical guitar really works in this bed of May mayhem .. definitely think it could easily have some sung vox or rap or both over the top .. perhaps even the odd vinyl scratch or reversed snare.. hmm, I might have gated the bass drum to make it tighter and less woolly...

I like this exploratory direction Alvin -good for you, and a fine upload for us.

Is that the Wildcat/animal growl loop I hear too? Well mangled .. :o)

Axgrinder said 245 days ago
The funny part is.......
Ean didn't play any guitar on this, nor did I for that matter! this was strictly "Blatant Lupidity" (or BL) Hell, I have NO idea who made this loop, but it sure works! I thought the classical piece sounded remarkably close to the actual Ean and thus, reminded me of him and his beautiful guitar work! Actually the piece doesn't do the maestro justice..... But at least I was thinking of him! Reason 3 or 4 works well for song writing and sparking some really cool ideas and concepts!
I hadn't played there in quite sometime and every time I peruse said program I come out with a bed at the very least.

Thank you kindly for the constructive comment. The BD did in fact need tightened! Nice observation....... I plan to resolve matters as such when I revisit the tune to add a little "vox" in the near future.

(};-Peace Out,

Ax

Hoots mon ..

.. well paint me purple and call me a purple thing .. I did read the description (honest!) but assumed you had looped some samples of Ian .. dang .. they really did sound like alot like Ean .. are we to conclude Ean has been writing some GB loops on the side?? ;o)

Great post Alvin.. can't wait to hear v2 with some vocals etc.

Axgrinder said 242 days ago
Indeed!
That was the "Wild Aminal Roar loop," ground by the "Grinder" in Peak Pro, I believe?

michael2 said 245 days ago
awesome
i got no probs with loops, they can be really cool (as in this particular song). god this is weird and I love it. really like the contrast at work here.

Norman Goodman said 245 days ago
Uhhhh...ohhhhhh
I am getting that funny feeling again...usually happens when I hear something really brave and "out there".
This brave new world of music you have embarked on is really cool....I love the tension and the creative use of loops ( personally I think the way you are using them is very intuitive and demonstrates the talented knack you have for writing and arranging ). Excellent....I can`t wait to hear what you do next!

Axgrinder said 245 days ago
Thanks bro!
It's god man! I'm merely the conduit.... that would be an exconduit rather! but once a conduit, always a conduit, which in my case is a pretty good thing I'd suspect! We should do some sort of summer project and see what kind on lunacy we can conjure up? Between the two of us, we should be overflowing with sheer unadulterated musical mad capped mayhem! Sounds like fun! And by the way, what you did to "flexinit" was paramount bro, truly! stay in touch.

Ax

guitapick said 245 days ago
Cool contrast...
...between the electric and nylon string. They come together really nicely with the drums as a binding force...

Looking forward to more...

Axgrinder said 245 days ago
Thank you brother!
Compliments from a 6-slinger of your caliber are always welcomed! I think I was on LSD flashbacks or something like that..... tis a wee different though, no? Swing by anytime 4 the coffees always on.

ic42 said 245 days ago
it is hot and cold
the electric guitar sounds raw. proud. male. the acoustic guitar sounds soft. gentle. female. they blend together well here. they were made for each other. it is a great skill to make them cooperate. they are a perfect couple. you have a rare gift. 0x0

God, I'm so sorry!
I very much appreciate your most heart felt comment! I love your music!!! your words are music to me.....

Very cool
I have to add my voice to the chorus asking for a vocal on top of this. Great contrast in styles, and very succesful mix. Nicely done. Peace.

Axgrinder said 245 days ago
OK!
So, I best get on it then, huh? Appreciate your visit as always and for the constructive comment.... I don't think people truly understand how beneficial honest feedback can be! If it wasn't for you folks, I would have no purpose..... And my music would grow stale and crusty to the ears! MJ's is #1

Best wishes,

Ax

Don't know this Ean guy
but he should be tickled pink with this track. You've made a very effective track out of just a couple of loops, well-chosen, and well combined. Cool stuff.

Axgrinder said 244 days ago
Thanks Vic!
However, it appears Ian (Mr. Bardsley) must not be to enthusiastic regarding what I have done! I haven't heard a peep out of him since I posted it..... Oh well, It is merely a tribute to a very gifted classical maestro! You should hear his latest though, good stuff Maynard!

http://www.macjams.com/song/42636

Perhaps he'll change his tune when I have completed it? we all know how excited we can be after we've freshly pioneered a catchy new track and all! Can't wait to see what the community thinks, it's like a drug.......
Anyhow, I appreciate your constructive comments Vic! Your always quite helpful. Now I must get back to SULKING! T_e_a_r.................

Inspires me
to do a loop song; it's been ages since I've tried one. Cool tribute to Ina's style guitar playing. I need to go listen to more of your music now. :-)

A great groove
some really imaginative playing and in a refreshing new way. You should run with this one i reckon.

Diviner said 244 days ago
Nice, cool track
Really like all the guitars and you are right to like the beat, its very nice. I like this Alvin, it has a very relaxed vibe.

drakonis said 244 days ago
Awesome stuff!
I love the interplay between these two guitar sounds. You really did make them fit together well, as stated above. The acoustic guitar does sound a little like something Ian would play (I got the good fortune to sit in his living room and videotape/listen to him play live!) Wonderful tune, great sounds. I'd love to hear where you take this... it wants more! So does your audience... go for it!
ttfn,
Drakonis

Ax, your great....
this is so original, never heard anything like it, your a real fine flamenco in my opinion, great work on that classical guitar, you have a great sound on that electric, sounds like a strat? Sorry I haven't been by to comment I didn't know you did one for me, I am very moved!!!

Axgrinder said 244 days ago
U Rock Ian!
Actually, my good friend, neither one of us played guitar on this! LOL, It's all made out of a couple of loops I put together in reason 4..... not to worry, the final cut will have us both playing the lopped parts I trust? thought it was an opportunity for us to meld together and see what transpires? You are most welcome Ian....

I'll be in touch bro,

Alvin

Got Me Grooving!
This is so cool and really different to what I'm used to hearing from you, not because I'm not used to hearing cool from you, but this has a funkier edge and the flamenco is really interesting, too.

I also love it that you dedicated it to Ean and it gives me warm fuzzies about this place. What a crazy family we all are.

Axgrinder said 238 days ago
I LOVE....
My MJ's family! Sorry for the delay, I've been playing catch up major, as of late! I always love hearing from you my dear, love your music, and most definitely look forward to your comments! to MJ's and all the awesome folk that hang their hats here.....

This is a very nice work Alvin. You have some fine visionaries for mixing some stuff together. Who could think of a flamenco guitar during a rocking piece? Cool job you did. Ian is a great friend and a great musician!
