Description This is an oldie from around 1990. I wrote this after realizing I had watched too much tv and my brain was more mush than usual.

I've always liked the words to this song. Must have been on a Twinkie high.
Lyrics Too Much TV

I’ve got the sight and sound you’d like to flash and be
A mind becomes a bullseye arrows pierce so secretly
My words work on your mind like ocean waves upon the shore
Cancelling all your memory of pain and what is sore.

You don’t know why you can’t believe that you would want me here
Electrons shooting through your brain exploiting all your dreams and fears.

Your eyes are dulled while dialing thourgh my hyper super marts
Bouncing from love to hate from war and peace to animated hearts.

I beam your dreams and nightmare screams inside a tube of chroma keys
Electrons shooting through your brain exploiting all your dreams and fears.

Transisted Parliment, voting with a cyclops eye
Castrated electorate, whining for their pie in the sky

Great song
Really like this song Tim, great lyrics, vocals and very tight playing. What really amazes me though is the production. I don't remember those tape machines sounding anywhere as good as this.
Cheers
Len

Len has beaten me
to the mark, - this reminds me of the Undertones - ....it's very seventies I think. Zappa did a song on this subject called - I am the Slime, about 1972ish.

Yeh , good track Tim and a nice clean and crisp sound, I have lots of old recordings I did on portastudio and none of them sound this good. Ten out of ten all 'round as far as I'm concerned. A Jiffytown Gem no less.

John.

Gentlemen. . .
Thanks so much len and woofer for your comments.

The Fostex was a beast of a machine that never did as well as it should have, but it did record ok, when I wasn't cursing at it and pounding on it. What I did was played the original four track tape through a newer Tascam Portastudio into the Tascam 788 Digital Portastudio. This allowed me to EQ it a bit and also add the harmonic guitar part. Anyway, it came out the way it sounds and I'm glad you guys like it.

I remember Zappa's "I am the Slime." The Undertones, not so much. This was written as an '80's style "New Wavish" song.

Thanks again for stopping by and listening, and giving your comments. It's always good to hear from you.

Your friend in Jiffytown.

rockin song
it has that analog sound and a timeless driving groov, good remix/production...are you using a snowball mic? if yes, it sounds good....BlueSky

Monkaton said 251 days ago
No Snowball
The mic was an old Peavy that I used for years before I upgraded. I do have a Snowball and also an AT 3035 which I use now.

Thanks for listening and commenting.

That bass is very 80s!
Drives along nicely and surprisingly good production from a 4 track Fostex. Mine never sounded that clean.

Cheers

Fender Jazz Bass
The song was written in 1990 so it is an old bass.

I can't account for the sound on this particular track since I have others from my Fostex days which are very noisy. I think what helped this was to play it off a new Portastudio into a Digital Portastudio, but hey, I really have not idea.

Thanks for stopping by, it's always good to hear from you.
